Sharing my (user) experience. Lonely Planet / GovHack Hack Day. Posted on November 9, 2009. Over the weekend I attended the Lonely Planet. At Lonely Planet headquarters in Footscray. I was lucky enough to be invited to join a team of Victorian Government people – Amanda. 8211; who had a great idea using some Department of Sustainability and Environment. Research, Retrospectives and Reflections. Social Networks in the Enterprise. The recent proliferation of the term ‘2.0’ across almost every domain leaves me with a few questions as my research approaches completion. What is the big deal with ‘2.0’? Why has it suddenly become so important to re-invent so many processes that have been around for ages? Have we gone too far with extending this trend? And Human 2.0. 1 Start at the people. Whether it’s your employees or your customers, they are at the core of ...

Imagine if YOU controlled YOUR data! | The SmartMOB Toolkit
https://smartmobtoolkit.wordpress.com/2009/07/03/imagine-if-you-controlled-your-data
Notes on the pervasive mobile web. Imagine if YOU controlled YOUR data! This post is a suggestion for the @gov2taskforce. And may be a lot more technical than some people would like this discussion to be. However I believe it’s a simple and tangible solution that could easily be prototyped and explored. I was fortunate enough to get along to both the Commonwealth Government 2.0 Taskforce. Roundtable and the roadshow. What the roundtable reinforced for me, other than WA is falling well behind the Commonwealth and other states, was that local councils had the most to gain from adopting web2.0 tools. The roadshow was a collection of familiar faces from a number of state government agencies a...

Laquo; Christchurch 2.0. Sharing across the ditch. Open Government vs Government 2.0. Australia and New Zealand have a proud history of calling the same thing different names, for no reason other than etymological coincidence. Duvet vs doona, thongs vs jandals, togs vs cossies. These differences are defended fiercely, in a kind of friendly rivalry. It’s the same with open government. In 2009 the Australian Government 2.0 Taskforce. Developed a significant report that went on to inform government policy.
