What’s growing indoors? | Get The Dirt

Gardening observations from Ginny at Saint Claire Cottage. Skip to primary content. What’s growing indoors? December 28, 2013. I love my east-facing bay window in the living room. Usually it’s got an assortment of indoor plants hanging out there. It has hosted a 3-4′ live Christmas tree a couple times in recent years, too. It also provides a bird and squirrel watching post and napping place for my cat, Miss Maggie. Close ups below of paperwhite blossoms, lady slipper orchid, and tiny rosemary blooms.

Waco, Texas – Chirp
https://gpaulrandall.wordpress.com/2015/07/20/waco-texas
Birding and Blogging in Galveston, Texas. Summer is the birding doldrums down here on the UTC. It’s too hot to go out and the chances of seeing something exciting are next to nil. So it was good to head North a ways, even if birding was not the primary goal. On the way out I saw this red tail sitting on a utility pole out on a country road east of Waco and pulled over for some shots. I finally got close enough to spook it and caught this photo just a second after take-off. A few Swan Geese. July 20, 2015.

Birding and Blogging in Galveston, Texas. I’ve seen Little Blues. On Galveston’s east end several times this year and I’m beginning to think we might have some residing there now. In past years I had not seen them at all. This is the first mature one I’ve seen. I think all I’m lacking in North American Egrets and Herons is the Reddish Egret. Oh, and the Great Blue Heron. Birding and Blogging in Galveston, Texas. XXX Bare Naked Realities. They say that when you look at the stars you are seeing them as they were long, long ago (in a galaxy far, far away) because it takes time for the light to travel before it meets your eyes and becomes an image in your mind. Intriguingly, some of the stars you see may no longer even be there. Steps away from desk to warm up coffee*.
