Just like North Africa? | Northern Lights

The blog of Peter Dray. My Sermons and Talks. November 22, 2011. Just like North Africa? Tomorrow I’m giving sessions for new UCCF staff workers on how CU small groups can be part of a CU’s mission strategy. You’re a bit like a missionary in a North African country. I remember thinking, No I’m. A missionary in a North African country! I’m a first year geography student in Bristol! He hit the nail on the head. Local churches and mission agencies cannot gain access to many areas of our universities. As...

All that's in my head is in His hands. Friday, 4 January 2013. From Donny with Love. It's been a while since I posted a prayer update for our family. We had intended to write one much earlier, but in the end it was Christmas Eve when I finally completed it. The title of the post is the working title for the new prayer letter, any suggestions are welcome! Thank you for continuing to partner with us, we hope you find this latest update helpful and encouraging. Prayer Update Dec 2012. The album bursts into ...

All that's in my head is in His hands: May 2013
http://bloodwashedpilgrim.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
All that's in my head is in His hands. Monday, 20 May 2013. It is a dangerous thing to come to word of God but not be prepared to listen to Him speak. This is one of the things that the Parable of the Sower in Mark 4 teaches us. The word of God is the good news of the Kingdom, and the good news of the Kingdom is about a person, Jesus Christ, the Living Word of God. Jesus commands people to “Listen! 8221; in verse 3. Then in verse 9 “he who has ears to hear, let him hear”. For us this might look when we h...

All that's in my head is in His hands: April 2015
http://bloodwashedpilgrim.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
All that's in my head is in His hands. Saturday, 4 April 2015. We often associate gifts with Christmas, but not very often with Easter. And yet, for Christians, Easter is where we see the gift the was given at Christmas come to its fulfilment as Jesus goes to cross, dies and then rises again. Here's a great little video by my former employers. Friday, 3 April 2015. Complete trust in the darkest moment in all of history. Great words of grace:. Beautiful words of care. 8220;Woman, [ a. 8220;Truly I tell.

Sarah's Suppositions: Screaming in Aldi
http://sarahssuppositions.blogspot.com/2014/05/screaming-in-aldi.html
Monday, 19 May 2014. I know Aldi divides opinion. Some people (like me) love it. Others (like Ben) hate it. I appreciate his comments on the disorganisation of the store and the random way price tags are displayed, but my love of a bargain overcomes this! However, the screaming in Meanwood Aldi, Leeds today was not connected to either of these. My nearly 2 year old son screamed for around 45 minutes as I did my shopping and queued to pay. "Let me go! And "Get off me! Do you need a hand? Feel like how my ...

Sarah's Suppositions: C S Lewis - The Last Battle
http://sarahssuppositions.blogspot.com/2014/01/c-s-lewis-last-battle.html
Friday, 10 January 2014. C S Lewis - The Last Battle. I love C S Lewis' books - and I absolutely love his Narnia series the best. To be honest, The Last Battle isn't my favourite - but there are some great parts in it - and this bit has been particularly pertinent over the last few days and weeks:. When we face death around us - when we lose people we love dearly, when we face death ourselves - when we ask Why? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. A Few of My Favourite Things. A Few of My Favourite Things. Over the next while I'm going to decide on what my favourite things are. 1) Salvation through Faith. 2) Eternal fellowship with Jesus :). 3) Joanna (my gorgeous wife). 4) Doing fun things that I get to call "work". 6) Home Baking (mainly eating but making isn't too bad either). 7) 24 (All Seasons). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The book I'm currently reading. Pray that God will continue to challenge me on how I can serve in his local church.

Thoughts from Topher: March 2011
http://thoughtsfromtopher.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
A Few of My Favourite Things. Tuesday, 29 March 2011. My most recent prayer letter. Where has time gone? Since my last edition of “On the run…” so much has happened. It’s been crazy (in a good way). I have been blessed to be able to see God working in the lives of students and in my own life as well. Isn’t that weird? Of course it can’t be true, because what would that say about God whose Word it is? So we were shown how awesome Leviticus really is by Mike Reeves which has impacted so many new leaders an...

Thoughts from Topher: May 2011
http://thoughtsfromtopher.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
A Few of My Favourite Things. Thursday, 26 May 2011. Church not just for Sundays. And let us consider how to stir up one another. To love and good works, not neglecting to meet together,. As is the habit of some, but encouraging one another,. And all the more as you see the Day drawing near.". During our church retreat, in May 2011, we were amongst other things looking at what church should. Look like and what our church could. I suppose, to my shame, I started thinking more about what is church. I whole...
