Comfortably numb – Judd Street Tigers
https://juddstreettigers.wordpress.com/2015/07/13/comfortably-numb
Social cricket in North London. Paulin Ground, Winchmore Hill Sunday 12 July 2015. JUDD STREET TIGERS 243-5 lost to OCTOPUS CC 244-7 by 3 wickets. Despite posting a season’s best score, a maiden Tiger century from Barnaby Pinfield, and some spectacular fielding, the Tigers suffered their eighth loss in 12 games at a curiously dank Winchmore Hill against a competitive Octopus side, always excellent opposition in traditionally high-scoring contests. Barnaby – classical batsman from a bygone age. Stewart an...

A damp squid – Judd Street Tigers
https://juddstreettigers.wordpress.com/2015/07/27/a-damp-squid
Social cricket in North London. Tiger Towers Monday 27 July. This weekend turned out to be what that virtuoso of the English language – Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson – would have called ‘a damp squid’, definitely putting the pigeons in with the cats. The Winchmore Hill 6-a-side tournament (the climax of their cricket week) was pulled for the second year running due to wet conditions, and after a Saturday of lovely weather, the Tigers’ Sunday fixture at the Paulin Ground went the same way. 8217; Try googl...

https://juddstreettigers.wordpress.com/2015/07/23/stuck-in-the-middle
Social cricket in North London. Stuck in the middle. The Judd Street Tigers are in the midst of a disappointing season, having won only 2 of their 13 matches so far. The team’s resident psychoanalyst, Brian Statsman, attempts to place his nerdy finger on what is going on. After some substantial in-depth analysis of this season’s results, my investigations have revealed the four main problems, viz:. A) Failure to put a full side in to the field. B) Lack of bowling options. There is an obvious pattern emer...
