Games & Interaction. In Fair Verona is an interactive installation I worked on as a school project, which is based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The installation consists of an abstract representation of the town Verona, the setting of the play, and its characters. Using a combination of Arduinos, speakers and plenty of wiring, we built a system with which participants can place any of the six figurines on each of the buildings. Was exhibited and experienced in NUtrecht, Utrecht on 27th March 2013.

Games & Interaction. Is a game inspired in part by the film 2001: A Space Odyssey, where the last shot shows a gigantic foetus beside the planet Earth. Three schoolmates and I were driven by this image to tell the story of a highly evolved human being, somewhere in the vastness of our galaxy, who must find its way back to its home. In this project I mainly worked on programming, modelling and game design as well as composing the music and ambient.

Games & Interaction. Shrines is a project I worked on together with Gijs Blaauw, which is a community driven location based game, built on the popular hobby GeoCaching. With a rich explorable storyline. The game was initially driven by Gijs and I, but eventually we would reel in some of the more active players who’d then create more hidden caches, add to the storyline and in essence become a gamemaster. Games & Interaction. Kubus de Game was a live-action game show for teenagers in Leidsche Rijn, a district of Utrecht. We were commissioned by Cultuur 19. And Utrecht City Council/ Castellum Hoge Woerd. To make an interactive experience which would connect youth in Leidsche Rijn with the local history and their identity with the district. As part of a workshop about creating something in the public space, we built a radio-controlled car that gave out roses to passersby, played football in an alley, and chased children at the train station. Charles, the RC Car, is looking for love. With his googly eyes and fine moustache, he sets out in Utrecht city centre to give people his roses!
