Gramma's in the kitchen

Monday, February 23, 2015. Gramma's Banana Nut Bread. A solution to having over ripe bananas? There isn't a Fall/Winter season that goes by that I don't make. At least one loaf of this delicious bread! I could sit and eat the whole loaf. Okay, well maybe not the whole loaf, but pretty close to it. And of course, not all in one sitting. Oh, who am I kidding? This warm, moist, delicious bread. Need I say more? 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour. 1 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1 cup mashed ripe bananas.

http://grammasinthekitchen.blogspot.com/2012/04/blackberry-skillet-dessert.html

Monday, April 23, 2012. I remember when I was younger,. My momma would take us to visit my great aunt. She never married and lived alone in the country,. In Patmos, Arkansas. She would always prepare a dish, made from blackberries, for dessert. She'd give us a bucket to collect the blackberries. From the bushes.across the dirt road from her house. But, oh no! I would NOT do that.I could just see my britches . Some how, some way.catching on fire! I don't know how they would have. Ohthose were the days.

Gramma's in the kitchen: Swiss Steak Supper

http://grammasinthekitchen.blogspot.com/2011/05/swiss-steak-supper.html

Monday, May 23, 2011. I love my slow cooker! Between it and my bread machine, I can have a full course meal on the table without a whole lot of fuss. Friday, I had to go out of town for the day. I knew I wouldn't have any time to prepare a meal when I came home, so I decided to pop this recipe in my slow cooker. It only took about 15 minutes of prep time (and a very quick photo shoot! After I left a 'DO NOT LIFT THIS LID! YOU'LL SEE IT WHEN IT'S DONE! 1 1/2 lbs beef top round steak. 1/2 tsp seasoned salt.

Gramma's in the kitchen: Hot Milk Cake

http://grammasinthekitchen.blogspot.com/2011/06/hot-milk-cake.html

Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Every year.well, several times a year actually.I bake this cake. Most of the time it's for my oldest son on his birthday or just because I know he loves it so much. The rest of my family is quite fond of it too. So yea.to be honest, we all LOVE this cake! This last time, I accidentally added two teaspoons of vanilla instead of one, and we all noticed the difference! As my grand-daughter says "Gramma, this is more vanilla-wy". How cool is that? 12 - 16 servings. 1 1/4 cup milk.

Thursday, July 28, 2011. After Surgery Product Review! Did that title catch your eye? I hope so, because I have got to tell you about this! I have loved Glad Press'n Sea. For several years now.as a matter of fact,. I would be the perfect spokesperson for this product! What you read or hear about this product in magazines or on TV is so true! And one of my favorite things about this wrap? You don't have to use very much! A one inch over hang is about all that you need for each container or piece of meat.

Wednesday, January 18, 2012. I've never been much on decorating for Valentine's Day. I'm sure why. Just never did. But, every Valentine's Day we would have our traditional 'Red and White Dinner'. All the food I prepared was red, white or pink. Red and white table setting. Red candles. Red, pink and white candies sprinkled over the table. The kids loved it! These little buckets are too cute! This is something I could do with my granddaughter! Such a pretty centerpiece. Maybe for their school party? That's...
