Musings and Marinations: Missing the mark
http://ruthannlea.blogspot.com/2014/04/missing-mark.html
Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Live happily ever after. How close is the promise of happy-ever-after to abundant life ( John 10:10. I just don't think the guy your looking for is human! Well, completely human. :). In the movie clip they never move their mouths. so how much did they say in that 4 hours? And what have we taught our children about love? It is a feeling of infatuation at best and has nothing to do with how your treat or are treated by another. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me.

Musings and Marinations: August 2011
http://ruthannlea.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 21, 2011. Filling the void and the little red hen. I received a correction from my daughter last week. I think it's awesome when she speaks up and tells me what I know is true. I was about to take on something that was outside my gift and call. It's easy to do. It reminds me of the old story of the little red hen who couldn't find anyone else to do it so she did it herself. I believe that we are gifted with powerful. Labels: filling the void. Wednesday, August 17, 2011. I work with hurting...

Musings and Marinations: October 2010

Monday, October 18, 2010. White Space part 2. Still pondering white space and wondering what the connection is between white space and “rest”. I am pondering that passage in Hebrews 4:9,. 8220;There remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.”. Recently, I had a friend suggest that white space on a page of text was “restful”. She added that white space as apposed to clutter in a room was restful too. Is it harder to be linier in a “busy” room? But, does white space over all add rest? I wonder about whi...

Saturday, November 13, 2010. White Space part 3. To understand the concept of “White Space” check out part one and two). There is an irritating quality about nature in that it hates a vacuum. Stuff slowly migrates in so that empty space never stays empty. That is certainly true in my world. I can work all morning creating white space on my table. Some things seem totally out of my control or anyone else’s for that matter. Take dust bunnies for instance ( http:/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dust bunny. There are...

Musings and Marinations: Adventure
http://ruthannlea.blogspot.com/2014/07/adventure.html
Thursday, July 24, 2014. I've been thinking about our lives. We have sort of been caught in this rut of needing to make money so we can pay bills and buy food so that we can eat and sleep so that we can make more money. It's sucks! We talked about our loss of adventure. our loss of contemplation and quiet time. It time for a change! The biggest thing that seems missing is adventure. I mean if you are in a rut what do you have to think about? What can you contemplate? Why plead to God and for what? Ruth A...

Musings and Marinations: Learning to look
http://ruthannlea.blogspot.com/2014/07/learning-to-look.html
Saturday, July 19, 2014. An Act of kindness…. Over and over it seems I am the one on the receiving end of kindness instead of the giving end. Open my eyes LORD! The other day my husband and I went to play a game of racquet ball. We haven’t played in a long time which explains why, though we packed most of what we needed to play, we forgot to bring a game essential… racquet balls. The courts were far enough away from home that going home to retrieve a ball and returning to play was out of the question.

Musings and Marinations: March 2011
http://ruthannlea.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 31, 2011. More thoughts on being forgiveness-conscious. I’m still thinking about sin-consciousness and forgiveness-consciousness. I’m thinking of a drama team we once developed in a Church. We were encouraged by some there to act out messages of guilt so that people might be shamed into some kind of a conviction. Yikes! Several of us questioned this tactic as manipulative and wrong but couldn’t make much headway. I don’t agree. From a parent’s perspective that makes total sense. He was fr...

Musings and Marinations: July 2011
http://ruthannlea.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 28, 2011. Are we meant to stay safe? Or are we meant to celebrate? It's confusing for me. I have been so trained to be safe and as a mom I have worked hard to keep my children safe but somehow they have learned a balance between being safe and living life. Perhaps that is part of being like little children that Jesus calls us to? Monday, July 25, 2011. The hand of Blessing. It's amazing what we can accomplish when the LORD is on our side! The peace of God. Wednesday, July 20, 2011. A- -, I...

Musings and Marinations: February 2011
http://ruthannlea.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 28, 2011. Day 22 Bringing life to order. This thread begins on February 7th. It has been frustrating. For the last two days I have worked to get my blog post up but internet connection has been a challenge. So I am posting both yesterday and today’s blogs at once. I was flying back home today, which gave me plenty of time for a business meeting with God. We talked facts and figures of how to pull the finances of my life together. And I asked about the point of this exercise. God did you ...
