http://floydpinks.blogspot.com/2009/02/5-of-now.html
Musings on Almost Anything (Occasionally). This is my spot to unload things from my mind. The topics can vary wildly, and it may be interesting, or it may not. In either case, I throw it out there to hopefully do good and encourage discussion. Wednesday, February 18, 2009. 5 of the now. 2NU - The Best of 2NU - Crossroads (Chaos). Shinedown - The Sound of Madness - Second Chance. Team 9 vs. Stereogum - Stereogum and team9 Present. MySplice The Third - Lockdown Shelter. This plays on the radio during the f...

In either case, I throw it out there to hopefully do good and encourage discussion. Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Billy Currington - People Are Crazy - Little Bit of Everything. Rodney Atkins - It's America - It's America. More simple country goodness. Not really a good explanation on this one, but I enjoy it. Possibly the smoothest song ever. May...

Musings on Almost Anything (Occasionally). This is my spot to unload things from my mind. The topics can vary wildly, and it may be interesting, or it may not. In either case, I throw it out there to hopefully do good and encourage discussion. Sunday, January 18, 2009. And I start to complain that there's no rain. Cloud computing on the web isn't the first to have this issue, other "connected" services had this type of potential gotcha as well. Certain Satellite dish receivers and other boxes that re...

Generally Speaking...: November 2008

Sunday, November 02, 2008. Tools for Planning User Interaction Research. S blog had a post that linked to a writeup. On user experience research methods which gives great descriptions about the categories of methods and when to use each. Most importantly though, there are charts! The last chart ties in the "when" factor. Different methods are used at different parts of development and this chart makes it simple to reference throughout the phase. I can't say that the user input we get at work will drastic...

http://bluenoob.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 16, 2007. Drivers here, but I kept an eye on the weather the whole time I was in. The tools that I used to keep up on the latest status included the following:. The radar is pretty awesome and accurate. That day in particular was pretty scary seeing the long path of white (snow) and pink (mix/ice). The thing I really like about this map is that it moves with time so you can see where the storm is heading. 3) Alliant's electrical outage summary. Also note that Ryan. Just call it in yo!

Generally Speaking...: Human Computer Interaction
http://bluenoob.blogspot.com/2008/08/human-computer-interaction.html
Friday, August 29, 2008. This week I started my first Human Computer Interaction (HCI) course through Iowa State's distance education programs. The course is actually a psych class called "The Cognitive Psychology of HCI". This is my test to see how working and going to school mesh for me and to see if I'm interested enough in the area to complete a graduate certificate or full degree. It's all good, but some quotes I particularly enjoyed are. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). ISU Ballroom Dance Company.

Generally Speaking...: Google Docs and Blogger Work Together
http://bluenoob.blogspot.com/2008/03/i-noticed-while-ago-that-google-docs.html
Wednesday, March 19, 2008. Google Docs and Blogger Work Together. I think this was a fairly new feature actually, I only remember hearing about it and checking it out a few days ago. I'm sure others heard about it well before that though. I haven't tried Google Docs, but I did try a few other alternate blog editors in the past. In the end, I always ended up finding it simpler to just use Blogger. You might be right though, about it being a bit cleaner to use on a shared blog though.

Monday, September 25, 2006. This is the first of what will probably be a series of posts. I'm going to call it the Poof! Series. I have found that there are several things that should just happen to make life easier or more seamless and I will post them as they come to me. Lists efficiently and they can even be sent to our mobile units. So what more can I want? How awesome would that be to walk into Target and have your phone display your list? Paper towels $1.99 aisle 5. Toothpaste $2.49 aisle 9. As an ...

Generally Speaking...: Wall-E
http://bluenoob.blogspot.com/2008/07/wall-e.html
Wednesday, July 02, 2008. We stopped to visit some friends from college at the start of our vacation. And caught the last showing of Wall-E Friday night. I love Pixar. Movies and haven't been disappointed yet. This one was no exception. I love how Pixar. Can personify objects and animals so well. It's amazing how they can evoke feelings about cars and create robots with emotions. I also loved how the Mac start up sound was used when Wall-E rebooted! I wonder how much that cost them. Yup, as Jason says, I...
