Green, Blue, Brown: September 2006

Green, Blue, Brown. A chronicle of my ongoing adventures in parenting, gardening, farming, and technology. Tuesday, September 19, 2006. Well, maybe we can debate the merits and ethics of using corn as a heat source in another post. In the meantime, what we have learned is that two and a half tons of corn is more fun than should be allowed. C'mon in, the corn's fine! Can you drive us around? Posted by e4 @ 9/19/2006 08:35:00 PM. Green, Blue, Brown: Wow, has it really been that long?

Green, Blue, Brown. A chronicle of my ongoing adventures in parenting, gardening, farming, and technology. Tuesday, March 08, 2011. Wow, has it really been that long? Once again I am a slacker. Then again, I've worked three weekends out of the last four (and I only got the one off because I was having surgery.) and a number of evenings - and this from a job where the major selling point was no nights and weekends because we have off shift staff. In short, I have a lot to learn. Experiment. I also wan...

Green, Blue, Brown: A nice little tool for our new wood stove

http://greenbluebrown.blogspot.com/2011/01/nice-little-tool-for-our-new-wood-stove.html

Green, Blue, Brown. A chronicle of my ongoing adventures in parenting, gardening, farming, and technology. Sunday, January 30, 2011. A nice little tool for our new wood stove. I found a great tool for getting a wood fire going. It goes by the the rather cumbersome name of "Fire Dragon Bellows / Poker". Apparently the generic name for this tool is a "blow poke," which sounds like something that should not be mentioned in polite company. Posted by e4 @ 1/30/2011 06:42:00 PM. At 1/31/2011 11:04 AM.

Green, Blue, Brown. A chronicle of my ongoing adventures in parenting, gardening, farming, and technology. Sunday, December 31, 2006. I get a lot of headaches. Usually not really bad ones, but sometimes they're pretty intense. I've always looked for some cause-and-effect situation, and I come up with new theories all the time as to what causes them. The answer is probably that it's not actually a cause-and-effect situation at all. But in a more positive light, I've been assimilated into the Groovy Green.

Chickens Knitting Cats Gardens and Frivolity! Frolic. (n) 19th cent. A planned rural work party. Sunday, January 31, 2010. We're getting ready for our first airplane trip in over a year, and we were testing out some new shoes and a backpack for Bean (all purchased from Savers, so just new to us). I had a flash of the "going to Kindergarten" picture. eeeep! But doesn't he look SO BIG? Also, one belated picture of Bean's first snowman! No-man in window.". Wish us luck. more soon! Crazy Sorry, you few and hearty blog loyalists! Anyway. It's very late and I really should be in bed, so here's a quick look at Baby Peach, who has been SMILING for a while now. Chickens Knitting Cats Gardens and Frivolity! Frolic. (n) 19th cent. A planned rural work party. Monday, October 18, 2010. So, this one's for Grandma T! Following in the tradition of these. Baby Peach is doing so well. growing, smiling, "talking". she's very social and has been cooing more than I remember Bean doing at this age. He is doing well with the new addition still, just a bit more testing limits with us lately. But he does love "baby sister"! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Green, Blue, Brown.

My Room with a View: April 2008

http://myroomwithaview.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

My Room with a View. Lost somewhere on a mountain top. Thursday, April 10, 2008. The future holds cherries and geese. Originally uploaded by maggies farm. Cherry blossoms hold such hope! The wild ones are blooming as well in the woods. There are clothes drying on the line. It feels like spring. And, one of the geese has started to lay (which is good). She built a beautiful nest and layed a lovely egg - right in the goat stall (which is bad). Now what am I supposed to do? Hmmm, must think. I Like to Visit.

http://myroomwithaview.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html

My Room with a View. Lost somewhere on a mountain top. Monday, December 31, 2007. I'm overwhelmed by seed catalogs. Really. There are just too many choices. I've gone through the last several years of garden journals and have the basics listed, but we have to think about the tailgate market and our own consumption. One thing I do know, we need more potatoes and onions. It was hard to keep up with demand at the market. What are your favorite varieties of bell pepper, pumpkin and squash? That leads me to m...

My Room with a View. Lost somewhere on a mountain top. Monday, August 18, 2008. Living in the Wild. Hey, it's empty! Originally uploaded by maggies farm. I love living with nature, but sometimes it can be a little too close. We had ursine visitors today - A mamma and THREE cubs. I now know how Monkey's pool got broken. They all had a swim, pulled down the bird feeders and headed off into the woods. I banged a few pots together to send them on their way. File Under: a walk in the woods. Most of this hatch...

Friday, May 15, 2015. Lucky for her, I work pretty well under pressure.I was practically the queen of procrastination, growing up. ;). I have to say, it was fun picking out art supplies for the project, setting up my own space, and carving out as much time as I could that week. I don't know why it's so hard for me to make creative time for myself, but this commission got me thinking that I really need to. I did two big pieces for the band teacher- one 2'x2' mural of the band in marching formation. I thin...
