Greetings from Green Country

Greetings from Green Country. Saturday, November 30, 2013. It's been a week since I posted, Thanksgiving has come and gone, and that other holiday is just around the corner! I am still focused on Thanksgiving however. These are a bunch of wild turkeys (taken through a screen door) that used to come in our back yard all the time when we lived in Missouri. I remember the first time I saw them, how excited I was! I'm an ex-city girl, remember? Oh yeah, this is a better picture! It was amusing to watch.

Greetings from Green Country: October 2013

http://www.greetingsfromgreencountry.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Greetings from Green Country. Monday, October 28, 2013. Today is my favorite #2 daughter's birthday! She is 48 today; and catches up with her older sister who is also 48 (until November 27th)! How's that for being busy? A great Mother, a hard worker, and a health food and exercise nut! She doesn't get that from her Mother! I love you dearly my Karen, and I salute you with this post. I hope you continue to do well in life. Tuesday, October 22, 2013. This is my day to be egotistical! On the way home I stop...

Greetings from Green Country: September 2013

http://www.greetingsfromgreencountry.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Greetings from Green Country. Thursday, September 26, 2013. I remember the days when the thought of a Monday ruined my Sunday! That was pre-retirement times. This past Monday was so enjoyable I wish there could be more like it! We started out with a trip to "town" (pop. 900) to take the "kids" to the Vet. Sigh I'm sure it is something she eats outside since the "signs" show up around her mouth and face. It's tough being a canine Mom! Now, what did I say about the weigh in? Until next time, take care.

Greetings from Green Country: Wheels ~ A Fine Ride

http://www.greetingsfromgreencountry.blogspot.com/2013/11/wheels-fine-ride.html

Greetings from Green Country. Tuesday, November 19, 2013. Wheels A Fine Ride. Since I've been having trouble with my legs and hips and back, and can't walk like I used to, I decided I needed something to get around the "grounds" with. And what could be better than a GAS powered golf cart? So, if you're having trouble getting around like you used to, consider getting a gas golf cart! Until next time, take care.. Greetings from Green Country: January 2013

http://www.greetingsfromgreencountry.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Greetings from Green Country. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. This was the last "show" we went to before going home the next day. It was a dinner show at Yakov Smirnoff's Theater. And I mean to tell you, the food was excellent. We were served right in our theater chairs, it was nice and hot, meats were tender, potatoes and veggies just right, we had strawberry shortcake for dessert, and we even had a candle on our tray! This is cousins Kay and Joe from Alabama, standing in front of Yakov's likeness outside.

Greetings from Green Country: Color Day

http://www.greetingsfromgreencountry.blogspot.com/2013/11/color-day.html

Greetings from Green Country. Monday, November 4, 2013. The other day I took my camera and went crazy taking pictures of the Fall colors. But much to my dismay, the colors don't come out as bright and vivid in a picture as they do to the naked eye. I suppose if I had an expensive camera they would, but my little point and shoot does what it can. This is practically sitting at our driveway, looking down the STEEP hill and up the other side steep hill! Until next time, take care. I was born and raised in O...

Tuesday, February 12, 2013. We began learning about pronouns today. We made sure that we used the correct pronoun for the context of the sentence. We also sorted our spelling words by how you add the ending. We previewed our vocabulary and comprehension skills and listened to the story. We will be having our read-in tomorrow instead of Thursday. Students can bring in blankets, pillows, and such to settle down for a some quiet reading time. HW: None Keep Reading! The new unwanted reality after my firstborn child was stillborn. Sunday, July 19, 2015. We're already past the 39-week mark which is the earliest our doc would do the elective section. We figured baby was robustly full-term by 39 weeks. Why put ourselves through the constant terror for 5 more days? Why push our luck? Sometimes it felt like each day we were risking the baby's life; gambling even. In the meantime, I'm going to put my feet up before Sheep is ready to nurse again in another 45 minutes. I...

Tuesday, January 15, 2008. Grandma turned 84 yesterday and had a wonderful day. Joan took her down to the drivers license division and she was able to renew her drivers license. She was very excited as the picture shows. That night we had a pizza party with Niki, Nat, Jammie, and Saige, and Joan and their families. We ate cake and ice cream and had a wonderful time. Greetings from Guam

This is a blog. Two years in Guam July 13, 2015. Long time no see. This blog was created mostly to give potential visitors or residents of Guam a portrait of the island, and less a play-by-play of my life. Thus, updates will be sporadic as the I believe I have laid out the most important things. One year in Guam June 3, 2014. We’ve been in Guam over a year, and while there is plenty to tell about the island, this post is a reflection on things I miss from the mainland. HIGH QUALITY PRODUCE. Seriously...
