gretchen's art blog: July 2015
http://gretchenbuwalda.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Art Day Roster 2016. Friday, 31 July 2015. Creating the green foliage background. Drawing the chameleon on pastel paper in pen. Using a cotton bud to blend the oil pastel. Initial sketch of a chameleon. Attaching a branch and naming in gold pen. The class has started a study on animals and how they adapt to their environments. I chose chameleons and showed the children an amazing You Tube. www.youtube.com/watch? If the chameleon was to be near a bright colour, they changed the skin colour appropriately.

Art Day Roster 2016. Monday, 31 August 2015. It's 'calendar art' time again. This is a fundraiser where the children make art that is offered to their parents to have turned into calendars, notebooks and cards. The art is to be landscape only. It is surprising how many of our art experiences are not landscape. Todays art could be a contender. I used an idea I saw online. pinterest. Thank you to the originator of this idea. The link went nowhere so I worked from the image I found. Links to this post.

Art Day Roster 2016. Wednesday, 5 August 2015. Animal paper. M12. The children are focusing on a specific animal each, in their own classroom. I asked them to bring any reference material they had because they would be making art about their animal. The animals ranged from guinea pigs to sharks. But that's not all. But this class has a lovely home teacher who is going to follow through with the completion. Yay. 8 and 9 year olds. I introduced the following words and meanings, with the children's help. For My Student Teachers. May 17, 2015. Sunday Devotional With Mr. E: Things Above. In amate bark painting the scenes depicted are usually of common everyday activities of the local people. Crumble craft paper and open various times to get a weathered look. The art room plant.
