Wednesday, 11 July 2012. Is not a provocative comment at a librarians' conference. I'm back after an information-packed three days in the capital. It was great. It's just so energizing to be surrounded by people who are as passionate about libraries and connecting people and information as you are. Tuesday, 6 December 2011. I've been away from here a few days. I'm not going to be able to go down to Kansas City for the Mariner games this week, as I'm going back to school on Sunday anyway. Which means this series came a week too early for me. Regardless, it will be good to finally watch a whole Mariners series on live television, rather than an internet video broadcast. Tuesday, 6 December 2011. At the end of the day, I'm don't see the Yankees moves helping them all that much on the field. The fact that they actually did something might help them mentally though. The A's improved an offense that was sorely lacking, but they needed more than one player to go deep into the post season. Wednesday, 15 August 2012. The view on my walk to work from the bus stop, in the Vic Park/Steeles area. No wonder they call it Scarberia. My business card says "Toronto" but who are we kidding? Tuesday, 14 August 2012. Blogger Flu, or, the Virus That Would Not Die. So I'm sick again. Although, more accurately, I have probably been sick since my mysterious "Blogger Flu" after Thanksgiving. It's just been lingering - I can't shake it off. This morning I woke up at 4.50 AM. My throat so sore I was having trouble swallowing. I drifted in and out of consciousness until it was a good time to call in sick to work, then gave into sleep. It's kind of scary. What's the matter with me? Why am I so sick?

Wednesday, 15 August 2012. A view from the fridge. The ceiling is only that low in that part of the apartment, by the way - there's a duct running through there and it's all boxed in. And here is the fridge door. Yes, that's Phil there on the right-hand side, but that's an old picture of him, from before I knew him even. I need to update that. The cats belong to my sister Andrea - their names are Fimo and Raindrop. The drawings are from Alex - "FROMALEX", see? OK, now the piece de resistance, the fridge!

Tuesday, 13 December 2011. Anyway, Hannabella is now going on the Aitkins diet. This really fucks me off. 1) The Aitkins diet may make you lose weight (mainly water), but you also lose a lot of the good bits of your body and can really fuck yourself up. 2) We all know and regularly tell Han, if she cut down on the beer intake then she'd lose weight. You have to cut out beer on Aitkins, so she will lose weight - but she'll thank Aitkins and not us! Hurts her kidneys and liver due to excess alcohol intake.
