https://growingandblooming.wordpress.com/2013/06
Blooming Where I'm Planted. My Educational Journey to Becoming a Teacher. Archive for the month “June, 2013”. Video editing was perplexing initially. It took me hours to edit my lesson. Using Windows Movie Maker to edit my project was a learning experience. In editing my lesson and uploading it to YouTube, I am assured that I could teach students how to edit their videos and share them privately via YouTube. Century skills that are necessary for them to compete in a technology rich world. This experience...

Blooming Where I'm Planted. My Educational Journey to Becoming a Teacher. Struggle leads to Progress. In Summer Session 2, In Behavior and Classroom Management, I was taught effective practices to manage the classroom. This class also challenged me to analyze and make plans for difficult student behaviors. Learning cannot take place if there are distractions in the classroom. A teacher needs to make sure that the classroom is well managed so that maximum learning can take place. When teachers think about...

Blooming Where I'm Planted. My Educational Journey to Becoming a Teacher. Archive for the month “August, 2013”. Struggle leads to Progress. Through the struggle of summer school, I must say that I made tremendous progress. I have learned that everything must have a purpose. The purpose, or the reason why something is done, must be present in the management of our classroom and the engaging lessons that we develop. If students are not engaged and learning, then what is the purpose? When teachers think abo...

A fine WordPress.com site. June 14, 2013. I am coming to the end of my blog soon…I’ve learned a lot of things through keeping a blog. I’ve realized I prefer reading other people’s posts to writing my own, but I’ve always known I’m more of a reader than a writer. I’ve realized I get tremendously excited whenever I see that someone has responded to one of my blog posts! So I guess the interactivity is appealing. Saturday, June 8, 2013. This week I explored working with an interactive white board (IWB). I downloaded the software for Smart Notebook. And began my venture into the world of IWBs. After playing around with the software to 2am for many nights, I'm beginning to feel a little more comfortable with this amazing software. Screen shots from my IWB lesson done on Smart Notebook. Tap the image of the alarm clock and it "rings" on the Smart Board. Analog and Digital Clock are synched together on screen. I shar...

Beth's Blogging Bits. A new teacher with a Masters just trying to find her balance. Education website I love! Posted in Teaching and Technology. For an assignment we had to review a few educational apps/websites. I reviewed the website ABCya.com. It’s a FREE website full of educational kids games! Beth's Blogging Bits. A new teacher with a Masters just trying to find her balance. Posted in Teaching and Technology. So the course of Power Tools in Education has ended, and I am struggling to put my final thoughts into words. Why am I having this road block? Well, after several days of thinking and typing only a few words, I have concluded it’s hard to explain something that just is. For instance, how do you explain a habit or a idiosyncrasy? Or websites like Scholastic. But additionally, this course ...

Growing & Foraging
Monday, 7 March 2011. So, after a period of being miserably ill I finally got to my allotment yesterday. My Mum came and helped me plot out where each of the beds will be so that I can avoid walking on them and start tramping down the very uneven ground where the paths will be. We took our little sticks and hundreds of metres of string and ferreted away, must remember to upload a photo. I have got enough room to allow me to have a myriad of fruit beds on the plot though and this makes me really happy!
