Ask Ms. Dorothy: On Self-Reliance

http://askmsdorothy.blogspot.com/p/ralph-waldo-emerson-30-day-challenge.html

Ask Ms. Dorothy. Educational Advice (because I'm full of it! I took this challenge for the month of June 2011. It is now February 2013, and I thought I would check in and see how I was doing on my promises to myself. As I read through this page, I found a handfull of things to reflect on. 1) Writing a book - no, I haven't done it. But I do have a monthly column in a local news magazine - and that's something. Look for "The Nest Matters" in the Denver Urban Spectrum. Is republishing a work of art that's e...

growingwithout | Growing without our son. Growing because of our son.

Growing without our son. Growing because of our son. Growing without our son. Growing because of our son. My son died in December 2013. His heart stopped beating during early labour. He died before I gave birth to him and before we learned he was a boy. I write on tumblr to share my life without my son; with poetry, yarns, gardening, words, and other things I slowly continue to walk through my grief, figuring out how my love for my boy continues to shape me, and looking for specks of hope and healing.
