Bolivia GSE 2011

Monday, May 16, 2011. Michael: The best and worst of Bolivia. We’re two weeks home now and I’m posting my final entry. I thought it would be fun to do Michael’s “Best and Worst of Bolivia.” (Of course, your experience may vary. Consult your owner’s manual.). We were hosted in six cities: Santa Cruz, Sucre, Potosi, Cochabamba, La Paz, and Oruro. My favorite city was Sucre. It was small enough to get around on foot and it was interesting and pretty architecturally. The best food was the fresh produce, part...

Friday, April 29, 2011. Judah- Las últimas dos semanas. So the past two weeks have been full of activities as you can see in the previous posts. Overall, we`ve generally gotten a bit more comfortable with the pace of life here. Cochabamba, La Paz, and Oruro have all been warm and welcoming with great weather, delicious food, and even better hospitality. Here are a few of the highlights for me-. Anne: Coming to a close. I´m not talking about Bolivianos; I´m talking about U.S. dollars! Today we visited a g...

Bolivia GSE 2011: March 2011

http://www.gsetobolivia.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 31, 2011. We have now been in Bolivia for just over 24 hours and what a full and exhausting experience it has already been! All our flights were on time. The longest leg from Miami to La Paz was overnight, and sitting upright, I failed to get any sleep at all. Although other team members seemed to sleep well, it was frustrating for me to watch them snooze. We were met by most gracious Rotary hosts at the airport, where we did our best to smile and project happy demeanors through tired eyes.

Bolivia GSE 2011: Michael: heading home today

http://www.gsetobolivia.blogspot.com/2011/05/michael-heading-home-today.html

Sunday, May 1, 2011. Michael: heading home today. Today we pack our things (again! Turn our psychic compasses northward, and begin moving home. We depart Oruro at 4pm for La Paz where in the morning we catch the first of 4 airplanes for home. I´ve been asked several times in recent days, ¨Do you like Bolivia.¨ This is not a question that lends itself to a simple answer. I´ll ramble for a moment, then get back to it. So do I like Bolivia? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Michael: heading home today.

It is with mixed emotions that I sit here and blog. Our grand adventure has come to an end after an action packed month. District 6290 Group Study Exchange to Brazil 2009. Friday, May 1, 2009. Soon the end will come. As I prepare to return home, I can not help but think of the many tasks that wait for me. There is the kitchen at Bela Amor that needs replacing and I must find a club to help. There is also the mammogram machine that must be purchased for the community of Bezarro. And, we should definately try to find a way to help ease the sadness of the orphans in Caruaru. Friday, April 17, 2009. Tuesday, April 14, 2009.

District 6380 GSE to Thailand. Saturday, April 21, 2007. I want to thank the Rotary clubs in both district 3330 and 6380 for giving us this amazing experience. We have seen Thailand in a way no tourist can begin to imagine. As we return to Canada and the USA, things here will never be quite the same for us. When we think of Thailand now, we have the memories of the smiling faces, panoramic scenery, spicy food and the gentle people that we have come to know. We will remember this experience forever.
