May 5, 2013 at 12:31 am. Not just a wizard, but an Alien Wizard! My kids talk about Alien Wizard all the time…. May 5, 2013 at 1:13 pm. LOL yes the alien wizard is everywhere in the northern suburbs. I even saw one up at Coburg Lake yesterday. This one by the Merri Creek in Brunswick East is one of the best though.

Guerilla (sub)urbanism, street art and urban detritus. Newer posts →. Spotted in Fitzroy North. The discarded analogue TV dumped on the side of the road has become a potent symbol for our ever-changing, busy and wasteful lives. It is an all too common sight around the streets of Melbourne. I love that this specimen has been painted🙂. Halt the High Rise. Guerilla signage on the Merri Creek path near the Blyth Street bridge. Spotted in Brunswick East. Newer posts →.

Trifecta « On the Street
https://guerillaplanner.wordpress.com/2013/05/04/trifecta
Guerilla (sub)urbanism, street art and urban detritus. What’s not to love about this ensemble? The stencilled soldier is unusual enough in these parts and the humorously defaced climate change messaging adds another dimension to the piece. But what I love the most is the angle of the Pedestrians sign – I want to believe that whoever erected it did so deliberately so as not to obscure the other two pieces… (rather than the other way round). This entry was posted in Melbourne. And tagged Climate change.

Thoughts and images from our six month trip around Europe. Asymp; Leave a comment. We were very fortunate to time our visit to take in a one-night only open air performance of Pride and Prejudice in the garden – great fun on a beautiful balmy evening under the stars despite the ham acting! Elizabeth Bennett in white, Mr Darcy in black. Yes, somebody brought a candlestick to enhance the romance of the occasion even further🙂. Topiary as only the English know how. Thoughts and images from our six month trip around Europe. Berlin: believe the hype. Asymp; 2 Comments. Berlin’s relative compactness meant that I was able to explore large chunks of the city on foot or by bike. My tours included both the former West Berlin (Kreuzberg, Neukölln, Schöneberg and Tiergarte. N) and the East (Mitte, Treptow, Friedrichshain, Prenzlauer Berg and Pankow). Berlin’s living history. The abandoned Iraqi embassy in Pankow. Transform them into street sculptures of course! Refugee prot...

Thoughts and images from our six month trip around Europe. Asymp; Leave a comment. We visited Auschwitz on a bright but bitterly cold day in December. Walking under the infamous Arbeit Macht Frei. The nightmarish conditions of living under a totalitarian regime akin to the DDR was accurately presaged by the Czech writer Franz Kafka several decades earlier (we visited the fascinating Kafka museum while we were in Prague). Like Josef K., the central character of Kafka’s novel. Let me walk with my brothers ...

Thoughts and images from our six month trip around Europe. Asymp; 1 Comment. At the end of August, Kim and I were lucky enough to receive a guided tour of the beautiful Basque country from my good friend Tom who is working there at present. The Basque country comprises the autonomous communities of Pais Vasco. I loved swimming in the calm, clear and somewhat brisk Atlantic ocean and walking along the delightful promenade in the evening. Day three took us into the heart of Spanish Basque country and to th...
