Four guys and me. . . a husband, 3 sons, and me: June 2014
http://4guysandme.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 27, 2014. Cub Scout Day Camp - Day 4. By the time I got to the camp and saw him, he looked like he was going to throw up. I was truly grateful I got there when I did. I asked if he was going to make it home. He said, "I do not know." My response, "At least you have a bucket.". We stopped at Grandma's house on the way home so it was not a complete waste. He decided he wanted cheese burgers for dinner tonight. He wanted me to buy them. I told him that we would make them. This was the compromise.

Four guys and me. . . a husband, 3 sons, and me: March 2015
http://4guysandme.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 25, 2015. I just read an interesting article on human behavior. It is not normal behavior, but it is human behavior. How do we react when our closest relationships end? What do we do to cope? How do we move on? Do we ever fully let go? These are the questions that reading that article raised in my mind. The article in question: "Tim Cook kept Steve Jobs in his iPhone contacts for years after he died.". Nearly three and a half years have passed since Apple. I know that I have cleaned out ...

Four guys and me. . . a husband, 3 sons, and me: Andrew has made a choice
http://4guysandme.blogspot.com/2015/04/andrew-has-made-choice.html
Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Andrew has made a choice. Andrew made his choice! As his mother, I could not be more pleased with his decision. I am truly delighted with his decision. I even bought his shirt for him to wear. We will be seeing a lot of the roadways between Tomball and Denton, Texas over the next year or so. Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Friday, March 28, 2014. There are some things you just do for your kids because they are your kids and you love them. There are other things you do for your kids because you love them and you just need things to work out. Things always work out. Moms possess finesse. It is in their job description. It is obtained by on the job training. It is sink or swim in most cases and you have to be a quick study. Thus the scheduling conflict. The arrangements that I made with Ben, however, is that I would head back...

Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Last night after Pack Meeting, Lance still needed to eat dinner. He did not eat before we went because he was not hungry. I think it was more of a case of him not wanting to slow down five minutes to eat something. It was a "bike rodeo" at Pack Meeting and he was so excited. He spent a day snowboarding in Park City, Utah and he might have fallen in love. This was his first time to see a real bonafide amount of snow and not this few snowflake flutters we get once in a blue m...

Four guys and me. . . a husband, 3 sons, and me: January 2015
http://4guysandme.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 23, 2015. A glimpse of what life looks like for a kid with migraines. Still I push through that. I have lived many years like this. I push through it. I take preventatives, I know that tomorrow might be a better day. I just need the weather to change. I can feel the air pressure changes most of the time when they are dramatic and first start. I push through. Then there is my 10 year old son, Lance. I should not expect anything near that. Keeping in mind that I was not logging his headache...

Four guys and me. . . a husband, 3 sons, and me: The past few months have been interesting to me
http://4guysandme.blogspot.com/2015/04/the-past-few-months-have-been.html
Tuesday, April 14, 2015. The past few months have been interesting to me. The past few months have been full of interesting experiences for me. I did not know what to expect in the whole process of preparing a child for college. I knew it would be a bit different than what I went through 20 years ago. I just was not prepared for what I was about to experience. Here I was, with a child that was nearly 18 years old or even had turned 18 years old eventually and I had people telling me what I should be doin...

Four guys and me. . . a husband, 3 sons, and me: Cooking and Recipes
http://4guysandme.blogspot.com/p/cooking-and-recipes.html
I do not profess to be a gourmet chef. I will even admit to being a lazy cook. I believe in real food that my children will eat that are easy to make. I believe in using ingredients that are easy find and get my hands on. Thus I have felt compelled to share some of my experiences in finding substitutions and still being able to feed the family the foods they enjoy with a modicum amount of change and still feed myself without pain. Feel free to explore my adventures in cooking right along with me. I am ma...

Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Lance the Cub Scout. Tonight was the first Pack Meeting that Pack 1927 has had in a long while. We have a brand new Cub Master (Sister Angela Foster) and an even newer Cub Committee Chair (Brother Bob Bosen). I am just glad that we finally had a Pack Meeting because we had several boys that were missing some awards from the end of last year. It was past time to get those awards to the boys. Lance had to tell what he did to earn his belt loop and what he liked most about it. Heavy...
