Sleeping Marina →. January 29, 2012. Over the winter break, I spent 10 days on Manitoulin Island. One morning I looked out the kitchen window, and took in this scene. I was captivated by the shimmering white light on the lake. January 30, 2012. I spent days here shooting time lapse photography of the bay, in the cold, quiet stillness. This is not to say that Meldrum Bay is uninhabited; it’s only the tourism season that is put to rest in the winter months; and the Marina is the focal point of all touristic interactions. White Winter Light →. January 29, 2012. Greek: Μετέωρα, “suspended rocks”, “suspended in the air” or “in the heavens above” – etymologically similar to “Meteorite”). One of the most sublime places I have ever been to is Meteora, Greece. Here you will find Eastern Orthodox monasteries perched atop of ancient sandstone pillars, giving a whole new meaning to the idea of ‘ancient Greece.’ I spent some time here in 2007 while I traveled in Greece.
