Seams of organic matter. On the way to school today I ran into a funeral party. A man in a suit, about 15 years older than me, was carrying a child and weeping uncontrollably. Two less eyes continued…. So, to go into more detail about the operation and recovery:. Prior to getting your surgery, you are given information sheets on what to expect, and you are also sent to the nearest pharmacy to purchase the medications you will need for post operative care. Bowing in Korea and other punishments. Um, I STILL don’t know how to do this and probably never will. If people bow to me, I usually do a little head-nod, smile, and stick out my hand for a shake. I can’t count how many times people have asked me to write a book. A crazy twist in my search, a couple documentaries, activism, art, and far too much introspection threatened to turn me into something I was not comfortable with. At some point, writing for others forced me to think beyond myself, beyond the politics, and beyond identity to something I think is closer to the truth. It was the most harrowing, wonderful thing that could ever happen to a person. Adoption can ruin the best days. A day of rest.
