I’m sorry for what I said when I was hangry | habitualhiker
https://habitualhiker.wordpress.com/2015/05/18/im-sorry-for-what-i-said-when-i-was-hangry
Walk camp. trek. climb. I’m sorry for what I said when I was hangry. May 18, 2015. Irritable as a result of feeling hungry. It’s a proven scientific fact that hungry people are angrier people. A 21 day study at Ohio State University. Attempted to find a link between glucose levels and aggressive impulses and behaviours, and found that people with lower glucose levels had higher aggression levels. Hangry made it into the Urban Dictionary. Or even breakfast AND lunch? I now pack food for my hikes as if the...
About Me | habitualhiker
https://habitualhiker.wordpress.com/about
Walk camp. trek. climb. Hiking brings together all the best things in life: the stunning natural beauty of the world around us, the sense of achievement of getting from A to B under your own steam, the endorphin rush from pushing yourself that little bit further, a little bit higher, and the opportunity to meet like-minded people along the way. The sense of achievement at the end of a hike is immeasurable. Got a question about hiking, camping or the great outdoors? Want to drop me a line? Blog at WordPre...
A year of new adventures | habitualhiker
https://habitualhiker.wordpress.com/2017/01/07/a-year-of-new-adventures
Walk camp. trek. climb. A year of new adventures. A new year, a new and improved me. And so the resolution goes every year. In addition to trying to be a healthier, fitter and all-round better person, one of my biggest resolutions heading into 2016 was to get out more: more camping, more hiking and more adventures. And it’s the one resolution I managed to keep. Campsites don’t get much better than this; red sand, red wine and a big red rock. Descending the west ridge of Mount Buller. Cheese and wine in t...
An almost perfect introduction to the Alps: Gosaukamm Circuit, Austria | habitualhiker

Walk camp. trek. climb. An almost perfect introduction to the Alps: Gosaukamm Circuit, Austria. June 21, 2015. Beginning the ascent to Stieglepass. Stunning views from Stieglpass. Every bend in the trail brought a new breathtaking perspective. It was so stunning that it seemed surreal. Just seven days earlier I had been sitting at a desk in an office in Sydney, and now here I was, trekking through this completely foreign yet magical mountainous landscape. Incredible landscape amongst the limestone peaks.
And so the alpine adventure begins | habitualhiker

Walk camp. trek. climb. And so the alpine adventure begins. May 3, 2015. The mountains are calling and I must go. – John Muir, Naturalist. At the dawn of every new year, without fail, I announce at least a dozen new year resolutions that I am sure will make me a better, happier and healthier person. And by the end of the first week of January, I am usually well on my way to failing most of them (dismally). It has already proven to be a planning challenge; it’s taken months to whittle down our enorm...

Habitual Hater | Read this and your IQ will drop, guaranteed!
Read this and your IQ will drop, guaranteed! 3 Teams That Need This Trade. October 27, 2011. So Jeremy Lambert and me got to talking last night and have come up with a way to improve or help 3 teams with only 2 trades! The 3 teams we are talking about are the Hurricanes, Flames, and Panthers. The Canes don’t want to gain 2.5 million in cap, so another trade to lose cap would not be out of the picture. October 25, 2011. That’s not the bonehead move I’m going to talk about though. I want to talk about a pr...
Habitual Healing
March 26, 2014. I am 10 years old, standing on the concrete step of The Old House on my grandparents’ farm. It is no longer a working farm, but the buildings still stand tall, the garden is bountiful, the grass lush, and grandma’s flowers bright and fragrant. To the west, a fiery-orange Canadian prairie sunset bookends a day that started just like the last. The buildings are all gone now, and my grandparents long dead. The concrete step of The Old House has been broken up and hauled away. What wa...I am ...

Habitual Hobbit
Wednesday, July 31, 2013. This Is The End. Question 29 - What Is The Last Thing You Bought Yourself? Oh, I guess it would a video game, Call of Duty, Black Ops 2. I have gotten loads of enjoyment filling noobs with cyber lead and shiving endless hoards of zombies. I get my money's worth, that's for sure. Question 30 - What Is One Thing You Cannot Live Without In the Kitchen? Question 31 - Who is one person that you would want to spend a day with and why? So, there you have it. Challenge completed. I do n...
Habitual Homebody - Making a house our home
Crochet & Knitting Things. What’s On My Hook. Huge List of Subscription Boxes. Pregnancy & Baby Things. Infertility & IVF. March 28, 2018. Our town put on an Easter egg hunt last weekend for the kids. We walked down there with Lachlan in the wagon, though I totally wanted to hop in too ha! All the kids went into the field and within 20 seconds everything was picked up and gone! I swear, one minute spent “waiting” with a toddler feels like 30 minutes. Second Trimester with Twins: Bumps and Thoughts. Oh ma...

We've failed to address the deep seated conditioning that has systematically allowed the devalution of our lives. These two pieces are cur...
Artwork by Los Angeles based artist, Adrienne Wade
I create messages of freedom and liberation among whimsical pieces that mirror our twisted sociopolitical terms of confinement. It’s an intriguing cocktail of colorful abstraction, metaphorical meaning and recurring symbolism. Adrienne Wade. If you have a gallery show room space or desire to enhance a wall space with a mural or if you’d simply like to see a ten year catalog of over 100 works email me: HabitualHuman@Gmail.com. Recurring symbols within my work.
Habitual Hunger
One mans attempt to satisfy his daily hunger. Tuesday, November 17, 2009. A few weeks back while shopping at Guido Marcello. My favorite Italian market) I ran into chef Ricardo Zarate. After chatting with him for a few minutes, he left me with an open invitation to come try his peruvian cooking first hand. Seeing all the hype online I knew I had to take him up on his offer and go see this new young chef at work ASAP! Cruncy, oily , and addictive pan fried corn kernals. The best way I can describe the...
