The Banqueting House Design. The Banqueting House Restoration. The Banqueting House Today. Hackfall is a beautiful landscape open to all. Hackfall contains four listed buildings. The Banqueting House – Grade II*. Fishers Hall – Grade II. Mowbray Castle – Grade II. The Rustic Temple – Grade II. Has now been fully restored and is owned by the Landmark Trust who make it available as a holiday cottage. Has been underpinned and stabilised to maintain the structural integrity of the building for the future.

Hackfall is a beautiful landscape open to all. After almost 200 years Hackfall is once again graced by a magnificent fountain. Which can be seen from the terrace in front of the Banqueting House and from the Rustic Temple. Visitors to Hackfall can now enjoy another of the splendours originally planned and created by William Aislabie. This project has come to fruition thanks to the enthusiastic work of a dedicated team of locals with the help of English Heritage and a Heritage Lottery Fund grant.

There is no disabled access to Hackfall, the terrain makes it impossible to provide access for wheel chairs and unless you are reasonably fit you will find the walk back up the slope challenging. A team of five (Catriona, Chris, Graham, Roger and Tony) were back to work on David Brown’s wall. Tony diverted over to the Longside Wood path to complete the cheek end of the downhill wall. We can now say that this task was finally completed at 12 noon today. Time to tidy up as full time is called for today. Friday, 14 November 2014.
