These Boots....: September 2012
http://thesebootsrmade4walkin.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
A tranquil late summer evening. A late evening stroll in September 2012. The evening tide retreats near Rampside, Heysham Power Station in the distance. A Mackerel sky over the Needle at Rampside. She sells seashells on the seashore. Butterflies and bees stock up on late summer nectar from sedum flowers. Tortoiseshell and Red Admiral butterflies. Having a paddle on horseback. The corn is as high as an elephant's eye. Maize fields ripen into gold, while clouds build up above the Lake District hills.

These Boots....: The Kelpies, Grangemouth
http://thesebootsrmade4walkin.blogspot.com/2014/08/the-kelpies-grangemouth.html
The Kelpies, Grangemouth. The Kelpies, two 30 metre high steel sculptures, suddenly rise up in front of drivers on the M9 near Grangemouth, in sharp contrast to an otherwise flat industrial landscape. Designed by Scottish sculptor Andy Scott, the Kelpies occupy centre stage in the Helix, a 350 hectare parkland project built to connect 16 communities in the Falkirk Council Area of Scotland. They are the largest public artworks in Scotland and the largest pair of equine sculptures in the world. Thanks for ...

These Boots....: July 2012
http://thesebootsrmade4walkin.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
A favourite walk on the beach at Baycliff, near Ulverston in July 2012. Morecambe Bay is one of the largest estuarine systems in the UK and is fed by five main river channels (the Leven, Kent, Keer, Lune and Wyre) which drain through the intertidal flats of sand and mud. The flats contain an abundant invertebrate fauna. That supports many of the waterbirds using the bay. The site is of European importance throughout the year for a wide range of bird species. The relentless advance of Mother Nature.

These Boots....: Fairfield Horseshoe
http://thesebootsrmade4walkin.blogspot.com/2013/06/fairfield-horseshoe.html
A slightly more strenuous walk than the last one; taking in Heron Pike, Great Rigg, Fairfield, Hart Crag, Dove Crag, High Pike and Low Pike - phew! Windermere becomes visible as you start the ascent. Near neighbours Rydal and Grasmere. The Lakeland fells stretch in every direction. Spot the RAF jet. You will sometimes hear low flying aircraft as the RAF use the area for tactical training exercises. Usually they will have already passed by before you hear them, but you might just manage to get a photo!

These Boots....: June 2012
http://thesebootsrmade4walkin.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Around and about, one fine evening in June 2012. This wasn't so much a walk, as a drive a bit, walk a bit, drive a bit more, take some photos. But anyway it was a beautiful evening. The bees were making the most of the glorious evening sunshine, busily exploring foxgloves. What time is it? Fungus thriving on an old tree trunk. The Needle, Rampside. 12 Apostles, Rampside. Making hay while the sun shone, near Stank. North End of Walney with Isle of Man in the distance. The sun goes down over the Irish Sea.
