No Death, Not Now, Not Ever (I hope)…. Asymp; 2 Comments. Artists wanted to have a departure from Modernism, and with that Postmodernism was born. Something just doesn’t sit right when the phrase Post-postmodernism is said. Why would something as profound as Postmodernism not be needed/wanted anymore when progress within the art world was made? When is an art movement truly dead? Would things go back to the way they used to be before Postmodernism when there was skepticism with gender, race, etc? The rea...

Asymp; 4 Comments. Memories, the good and bad are a huge part of our lives. As an artist memory can be key for certain paintings I create. This thought came more clearly to me when I witnessed Christopher Knowles, Josephine Pryde and Becky Suss’s works at the Institute of Contemporary Art on Wednesday November 4. 2015 While walking through the gallery I started realizing that the art I was looking at, for the most part had to do with memory which turned on the light bulb for myself! November 12, 2015. This time was no different with perhaps the most innovative difference being the train Pryde utilized, which not only allowed me to view pieces in a chronographical way but was itself covered in graffiti and tiny bubble letters. Sitting on the caboose, I couldn’t help but to liken my short journey around the room to the train of thought that must’ve been running through her mind. So awesome. Middot; November 14, 2015. Asymp; 3 Comments. One with Nature is the title of my new series, which will be bringing together the figure and nature in the means of self-portraits which compare the beauty of myself and the beauty of nature. Possible morphing of body parts with parts of nature may happen but covering my face from here on is out of the question. I plan on becoming an art therapist one day with the intentions of helping others use art to overcome anything they may be going through just as painting has changed my life.
