How it started | RHFH Rescue Center
https://haitirescuecenter.wordpress.com/how-it-started
Giving hope in this life and the life to come. The vision of the Rescue Center began in 1999. We began with our first child, a severely burned 6 year old, that would have had to walk 6 hours each way to get dressing changes. We took her into our care to do daily dressing changes. Two week later we took another burn, and after two more weeks we had four children that were living with us full time. January 22, 2010 at 11:13 am. I admire your strength and dedication to these children. Hey oh my gosh! I am c...

Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Chapter 2: My masterpiece won't have a Volvo in it. This photo has been a source of intrigue and inspiration to me for years. Waiting for the sake of waiting. You won't find it here. News, Relevant Magazine, Facebook, and could not find anything that could help me shift my attention so that I can fall asleep (where I will probably just dream about work). We Work by Grace.". Don't worry, I didn't understand it either, at first. As Dr. Piper so eloquently unpacked this verse...That ...

Send me deep!: November 2011
http://sendmedeep.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Big Red 1 broke down. That was the first hang up. We thought we were going to get an early start this morning, but while waiting at the mission gate, the Honda 2 seater ATV, the one that Dr. Sorg, Abby, Johnny, Wilner and Hebron were in just decided to stop running. I saw something on the way up that Ive never seen in Haiti before. Road construction crews paving the single lane winding mountain highway. Thats not where we were headed though. We were on our way to the pre...

Send me deep!: September 2012
http://sendmedeep.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Count It All Joy, My Brothers. I have been completely silent on my blogs since starting my training as a Physician Assistant at Stanford on July 2nd. Part of the reason for the lack of writing has to do with the business of the demanding academic schedule, but more so, I haven't known what I should write about, or lacked the inspiration. In a previous blog. Would I ultimately blame myself? Would I become bitter? Would I become suicidal? Would I turn to drugs? But, back to the...

Send me deep!: Because first, Christ.
http://sendmedeep.blogspot.com/2015/04/because-first-christ.html
Sunday, April 5, 2015. Because first, Christ. As we spent time both with our church family and our physical families this weekend, we were refreshed and encouraged to learn of how many people are supporting us as we prepare for this mission. What drives the hundreds and thousands of people like us to accept challenges, forego comfort and endure risk? Is it for self-promotion, to impress friends or colleagues? Is it to leave behind a lasting legacy? Because first, Christ. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Send me deep!: A Note From Elizabeth
http://sendmedeep.blogspot.com/2015/04/a-note-from-elizabeth.html
Sunday, April 12, 2015. A Note From Elizabeth. As I think of this upcoming medical mission trip to Haiti I hang on tight to these three verses from the Bible:. 1 Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.". 2 Deuteronomy 31:8 "It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed .". I have never been to a developing coun...
