Summer in New York City

Summer in New York City. Monday, July 12, 2010. The Central Park Tale. One thing I quickly learned here in the city is that while everything is expensive, there are actually a lot of places to go and things to do that cost very little or nothing at all. There is a catch to this, however - you give up your precious sleep time. And a visit to Tudor City (the city above the city). And while the experience of walking the bridge and seeing the city from a different point of view was great, it was nothing ...

Summer in New York City. Monday, July 5, 2010. Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue. Last Thursday, after a half day of work - which included a visit from Lindsey's yorkie, Hendricks - I headed back to the Roosevelt Hotel on Madison Avenue for a little relaxation before a wonderful four (and a half) day weekend! This hotel is very pretty - renovated and we lucked out by being upgraded to a suite on the fourth floor after a little mix up with the rooms! Following my little celebration in the store we stopp...

Summer in New York City: Going GaGa

http://www.haleighnyc.blogspot.com/2010/07/going-gaga.html

Summer in New York City. Friday, July 9, 2010. Until this summer I had thought the Summer Concert Series was something that only Good Morning America did. Little did I know that some 40 blocks away from the GMA concerts in Central Park, the Today Show was putting on some amazing shows in Rockefeller Plaza. Although I came along for this fun, early morning experience - I had to leave my group of friends for what has become my favorite experience thus far in NYC! What did I do? And news about the economy.

Summer in New York City: June 2010

http://www.haleighnyc.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Summer in New York City. Friday, June 25, 2010. Wednesday night I got the chance to see the New York City premiere of Adam Sandler's latest movie, Grown Ups. At the legendary Ziegfeld Theater! Once arriving at the red carpet I stood with Chloe as she interviewed the stars of the movie, including David Spade and Chris Rock! Plus, we did catch a glimpse of Adam Sandler entering the theater in his red t-shirt! Definitely go and see it if you have the chance! Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Finally, a Routine! Watch...

Summer in New York City. Sunday, May 30, 2010. New York vs. College Teachings. For three years I have been told on repeat in every single journalism course that Wikipedia is NOT a valid source.yet in only one week at HollywoodLife.com, I've used the site as a more than valid starting point more times than I can say. On the other hand, I've also learned how happy I am that I chose to pursue a journalism degree at Mizzou. Apparently it's a godsend to be able to edit video! Monday, May 24, 2010. Just three ...

Jenna in the City. I'm a Mizzou J-school grad in for a ride I'll never forget: living in the Big Apple. Monday, May 31, 2010. A red, white and black and blue weekend in D.C. This weekend was Memorial Day weekend, so I asked myself, what better way to spend it than in the nation's capital? The MegaBus left from Penn Station at 8 am I got there at 7:45, and much to my surprise, there was a line down the street! I thought to myself, "How in the world are all of these people going to fit on this bus? A reall...

http://jennatinthecity.blogspot.com/2010/07/days-go-by.html

Jenna in the City. I'm a Mizzou J-school grad in for a ride I'll never forget: living in the Big Apple. Sunday, July 18, 2010. Lots of cool stuff happening this week! Free drinks and "appetizer plate" at Louis 649 in Alphabet City. I use the term "appetizer" loosely because it literally was a small saucer of pickled beets, pickled red peppers and pickled pickles (if that's even possible). The drinks are highly recommended, though! It was so peaceful and a great concert! Lucy lives in New Town, Conn. ...

So it has been all fun, and no work! She arrived at my apt. Wednesday. Afternoon, so naturally we decided that her first stop would be Times Square! Sure was a hot one! Jenna in the City. I'm a Mizzou J-school grad in for a ride I'll never forget: living in the Big Apple. Thursday, August 5, 2010. A change of heart about Kanye West. It all began when Corrisa and I got on the elevator to go downstairs to Duane Reade. As we got off the elevator on the first floor, Corrisa looks at me with excitement in her eyes. Our following conversation went a little like this:. I think I just saw Kanye West," she said. We HAVE to find him! Lucky for us, the conference room is all glass...

A few years ago I was cleaning out my desk, and I found a postcard someone sent me many years ago when I was in college. On the front is a picture by Vincent van Gogh called Starry Night on the Rhône. It is without a doubt the most recognized piece of art by van Gogh, and also his most mislabeled. My HI Adventure

My life, my experience, my adventure. Friday, March 30, 2012. Ticking Ever So Slowly. Well, as the semester draws to an end, I just can't help but feel more and more impatient. A number of things are on my to do list (yes, I have one) and I feel like they just aren't getting done. Perhaps this is because finals are now just one week away? I don't know. What I do know is that I am ready to get the heck out of here. We went on a hike. Again. I'm going to be paying Mountain View's track team many visits whe...
