Place to Visit In and Around Holywell. The gates, railings and stone piers with memorial tablets set into them located at the Panton Place entrance to Fron Park were erected after WWII in honour of the 110 Holywell men who gave their lives in the two world wars. Its landscape today is a reflection of this industrial exploitation but, as nature reclaimed much of the land, Halkyn Mountain Common has become a popular place for walking, horse riding and bird watching.
