Travel Adventures Based from Southwest Virginia. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Age of Revolution: Yorktown, VA. On our tenth anniversary weekend trip, we took an afternoon trip to Yorktown Battlefield. That is worthy of its own blog entry. Highly-driveable from Williamsburg, Virginia, or any other spot in the Historic Triangle. For this visit, we did a large portion of the driving tour, walked to the preserved and reconstructed redoubts (earthen forts), and saw the seasonally-open Moore House. New Market, VA.

This year, we enjoyed a family beach trip with our cousins, Ryan and Stephanie, to Colonial Beach in Northern Virginia. It was very relaxing! Stephanie's dad even came one day and took us out in his boat on the Potomac. It was probably the most fun day for us and our kids!
