HandFast Design by Kim Fox: August 2012
http://handfastdesignbykimfox.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
This blog is intended to be a conversation for jewelry designers and those who are interested in jewelry. Monday, August 27, 2012. What inspires me - my grandmother's ring. When I was young I had a fascination with my Grandmother Esther's jewelry. She was a fashion plate in her day and her jewelry was different than anything else I had seen. She had a poison ring. It was a ring whose main decoration hid a small box where poison was supposed to be held - at least that is what she told me. This blog is int...

This blog is intended to be a conversation for jewelry designers and those who are interested in jewelry. Sunday, January 1, 2012. As I mentioned- I killed my computer New Year's Eve with a glass of water. When something like that happens I realize how dependant all of us are on our tools, whether they are torches, kilns, computers, pliers or telephones. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). HandFast Design by Kim Fox: Tales from the Road - Shows I have known
http://handfastdesignbykimfox.blogspot.com/2012/10/tales-from-road-shows-i-have-known.html
This blog is intended to be a conversation for jewelry designers and those who are interested in jewelry. Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Tales from the Road - Shows I have known. Those of us who sell our art have favorite shows and ones we will never visit or sell at again. We talk among ourselves and compare experiences at various shows. Some of us go to juried art shows, others sell wholesale to the trade. What most artists want is a fair break. We can't account for bad weather or other acts of nature.

Crafting a Life in Indiana. Living, loving and crafting one day at a time. Wednesday, September 24, 2014. September Pretty Palettes Challenge : riding a bike.that sparkles. Beading is best when shared! For months, a couple of my friends and I had been striving to schedule a beading "play date" for ourselves. Our busy schedules, our kids' busy schedules, and the fact that we don't live in the same town made it challenging, but soon after Erin. Posted September's Pretty Palettes post. Jenn and Rachel and I...

A Clowder of Cats. Of Dogs and Men. July 16, 2015. July 16, 2015. Let me get this out of the way: my rescue puppy Lulu Belle is not completely blind. It turns out that her left eye can detect light. Dr. Jay Harrington, a veterinary ophthalmologist practicing in Brooklyn, confirmed this after a thorough examination. But I adopted Lulu Belle believing that she was totally blind. Loves kids, tolerates cats, if I didn’t already have a dog I’d never part with Misti. My friend Rick happened to be in town at th...

This blog is intended to be a conversation for jewelry designers and those who are interested in jewelry. Sunday, October 28, 2012. How I turned being bad into good. This is a wax that came from my effort to stay. Awake during driving school. I try to keep a pen/pencil and paper around most all of the time. Sometimes I create doodles that don't make sense and sometimes I create a poem or something pretty. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Handfast Design by Kim Fox Website. HandFast Design by Kim Fox: November 2011
http://handfastdesignbykimfox.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
This blog is intended to be a conversation for jewelry designers and those who are interested in jewelry. Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Persistance as a part of the creative process. There was a persistance and a work ethic that had made me successful in other parts of my life and had pulled me out of bankruptcy, failed marriages, poor health and other parts of life that aren't so pretty. I had been a wonderful success and a dismal failure more than once in my life and had survived both. And there was a d...

Lisa Kan: The Road to Tucson 2011
http://lisakan.blogspot.com/2011/01/road-to-tucson-2011.html
Sunday, January 30, 2011. The Road to Tucson 2011. Every year's show season for me begins in early February when I trek to Tucson for a week of beads, beads, friends and beads. Before I tell you about exhibiting at the Best Bead show, I wanted to let everyone know that I have been extremely busy and thus the reason I've neglected this blog for so long. You've heard these comments before about "being extremely busy" but it's true. I'm going to cut this entry short and get to the show details next since I ...

HandFast Design by Kim Fox: December 2011
http://handfastdesignbykimfox.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
This blog is intended to be a conversation for jewelry designers and those who are interested in jewelry. Thursday, December 29, 2011. I live in a rose colored double wide with a 3 legged dog. The community is unincorporated by choice. There are a lot of people who live here who want to remain anonomous and untaxed by such things as a town hall, mayer, city council, etc. Some are world reknown artists. There is poverty here, most of the children under 18 receive assistance. There is wealth here - you...
