Chronicles of the Bartons: December 2008
http://chroniclesofthebartons.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 24 December 2008. Merry Christmas from Aberdeen! Thursday, 18 December 2008. Despite having limited sunlight, we were able to get out and enjoy all that the historic city has to offer. In total, we visited Edinburgh Castle, St. Giles, Mary King’s Close and Camera Obscura. Edinburgh Castle at Night. Situated on volcanic rock, the castle is protected by sheer cliffs on three of its four sides. This provided excellent protection from the multiple sieges over the centuries, but also made it di...

Thursday, 17 February 2011. Is It a “He” or Is It a “She? 8221; It’s…. Well, it’s a baby, but that is all we are going to find out! Yes, we are one of those crazy couples who have chosen not to know the sex of the baby before birth. To be even clearer…Marin is pregnant and due in early June. Tomorrow she will start her 25th week! We know that we have been horrible at updating our blog since we left the UK, but we are going to make one final attempt to keep it up to date. It seems it is the best way t...

Chronicles of the Bartons: February 2009
http://chroniclesofthebartons.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 24 February 2009. Today is Pancake Day here in the UK so “tuck in” and enjoy a plate of pancakes however you fancy them: crepe or buttermilk style, although thinner is more traditional. Everyday is a good day for a pancake, however eating pancakes today has more meaning that you may have known…today is Shrove Tuesday. Although not as traditional, we prefer a small spread of Nutella on ours. Monday, 9 February 2009. When we would comment on the weather, everyone responded “hold tight until ...

http://chroniclesofthebartons.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, 8 April 2010. No post since December? Wow, are we bad bloggers or what? Hopefully some people are still checking on us; we promise to be better in the future! Since December we have been busy and made a lot of changes in our life. Since so much has been going on, we will provide a brief sequential update, with a few pictures here and there! It was definitely a treat. Marin’s parents hosted their annual New Year’s Eve Party and as an added bonus, Erik’s parent joined us! In January we continued ...

Chronicles of the Bartons: November 2008
http://chroniclesofthebartons.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 26 November 2008. Well, we have finally settled into our home for the next several months. Our "flat" (a.k.a "apartment") is located slightly out of the city centre. The location is very convenient as we can walk to everything including our grocery, church, pubs, clothing stores, football stadium and doctor. Erik is the only one who currently gets to brave driving to work! It takes approximately 3 hours to do a load of the basics for 2 days of living. Thursday, 20 November 2008. Welcome to the...

David Tieche's Blog: July 2005
http://davespeaks.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 29, 2005. Notes, Quotes and Billy Goats. Time for Notes, Quotes and Billy Goats:. I saw a bumper sticker that I'd never seen before the other day. It said:. I'm personally pro-life, but politically pro-choice. - Pontius Pilate". But it's also defined as: "leeway or deviation from a standard." Which I think is what some folks think of when they think of tolerance. God sets the standard for what is okay to do, and if you break from that, you're on dangerous ground. Aye, Aye, Cap'n. From the al...

David Tieche's Blog: August 2005
http://davespeaks.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 26, 2005. No, no, I was just installing insulation and then rubbed my eye, is all. I don't know if it's left over hormones from my wife's pregnancy, or just that I'm a wimp, but columns like this. Actually make me cry now. Posted by David Tieche at 1:53 PM. You want some crack? Aisle 5 at Safeway. This is astounding. Most of the time when I hear about news in San Francisco, I usually smile. San Fran is always on the edge. Sometimes, that's cool, other times, it's just dumb. Now, I don't kn...
