My Facebook feed is full of joyful photos of friends and their fathers, grandfathers, and fathers-in-law. I’m now at the age when it’s also starting to be populated with photos of friends and their children. I’m still relatively young in the fertility game; at thirty, I have a few years left before everything around me truly becomes baby bonanza. How crazy is that?

September 2011- We decided to “try” and I stopped taking birth control. December 7, 2011- Period was a day late, so took a pregnancy test “just in case.” Got our first plus sign. December 14, 2011- Went to the doctor and my urine test came back very faint. Had an ultrasound and we couldn’t see anything. The doctor thought we were not as far along as we thought and tested my hcg levels. December 16, 2011- Tested hcg levels again. December 23, 2011- I started to spot and attributed it to the ultrasound.

Make what happens beautiful. About a week after my last post, I came home to a great surprise! Can you see it? There is a little gosling, by momma (or daddy) goose’s tail! Through sharing my story, I’ve been told repeatedly how strong I am. I usually nod my head, whisper thank you, and shyly move on to the next topic. I do this for a couple of reasons.
