And that jar of beads has been emptied on the dining room floor! The baskets get toted around and re-designated. I just try to breathe slowly. So, probably won't be up to date, but I will think about it. View from the bottom. View from the top. It was crazy - like octagonal pavers. Top of Rainbow Falls. Watching the guys from above. And there was snow! We've...

They all still fit in the truck! Labels: We are family. Will work for food. I recently skimmed and article in the Wall Street Journal about the benefit of chores for children. I skimmed it because it really seemed like a waste of time to read an article about something that already seemed so obvious. (Not to mention a waste of grant money to study and write about something that seems so obvious.). You wear it, you wash and fold it. You eat off it, you wash it. The time she had an afro. And then I see my ...

Can not. wait. to see what she becomes. Anyway, once I quit moaning and started looking around, I realized there are plenty of romp-able places in the city. You just have to be creative. Canyons are the best. We don't always romp in our Sunday clothes. The just happened to be a "Hey! Let's go to the tunnel! Kind of moment. So we went. McBride Links: Summer Vacation
http://mcbridelinks.blogspot.com/2015/04/summer-vacation.html
I think it was actually summer break, not spring break like I said previously. I can't remember now where we met up with the cousins.Huntington Beach maybe? Somewhere up the coast. Sometimes I can't believe we live so close to such beauty. I would suggest that these two were separated at birth, but look at them - clearly they were not. But they are two peas of a pod. Thumbs up and peace! They wanted to take a picture with just Henry, but I wasn't willing to let him loose. This was the compromise.

The time is quickly approaching when I will be more than a year behind on this blog. I will not be surpassed! So, I am going to try to make a blog post each morning. We'll see how that goes. On birthdays, we try to do the things birthday person likes best. So, in June last year, we did a lot of hiking in June. This was my birthday. We took my new pair of binoculars and went bird watching at Lake Cuyamaca. Some birds you don't need binoculars to see, only a bag of bread. Stare down. She held strong.

Pretty sure his is a red shouldered hawk. A neighbor hired a face painter for their daughter's birthday. Face and arm painter that is. And this is Carlos' gigantic squash. It weighed more than Henry at the time. Carlos lives three doors down and leaves bags of avocados on our door step about 10 times a year. Awesome, huh? Just some stuff around here.
