Fine bone structure – a garden on the threshold of spring. | A Parrot's Nest

http://harrietrycroft.com/2015/03/23/fine-bone-structure-a-garden-on-the-threshold-of-spring

A Parrot's Nest. At home with plants and nature in gardens and beyond. Fine bone structure – a garden on the threshold of spring. Posted on March 23, 2015. My aunt phoned me and proposed a garden visit. It being early March we soon realised, after the initial burst of enthusiasm, that our options were limited. Snowdrops were grinding to a slushy halt and most unsnowdroppy gardens still had their gates firmly closed. Daffodils sparks beginning at Rousham. Venus in her Vale, looking faintly embarrassed.

A Parrot's Nest. At home with plants and nature in gardens and beyond. Posted on March 25, 2015. I’ve moved on but the blog posts I wrote still exist – so here’s a link to them. Or by putting a comment on the end of this blog post. Enjoy the pictures anyway! A Parrot's Nest. At home with plants and nature in gardens and beyond. Plants for your pots from seed. Posted on March 14, 2015. As you may know I’m a tutor at My Garden School, teaching a course on Container Gardening – I’ve planted about 7000 pots in the last 14 years so I’ve learned a lot along the way. Given half a chance I’ll blather on about it for hours! Cosmos ‘Sweet Sixteen’. Sow Cosmos and you’ll hardly have time to make a cup of tea before they germinate. Posted in Container gardening. December 2014 – Off The Edge Gardening

https://offtheedgegardening.wordpress.com/2014/12

Off The Edge Gardening. December 20, 2014. December 20, 2014. Yesterday, after a week of rain and gales, it was a pleasant change to experience some winter sunshine at Lavinia and Lionel’s. The day was especially important as it was one of those milestones that we invent for ourselves but all the same are of consequence; it was my last day of work before Christmas. For the record it turned out to be a very satisfying day. It saw the completion (! As is generally the case Phase Two will follow Phase One &...

Not a Carrot – Off The Edge Gardening

Off The Edge Gardening. August 8, 2015. First pick a load of rosemary. Beat it into submission with a rolling pin and stuff it into a container of your choice. I use a spaghetti jar, quite why there is one of these in our house I have no idea, but at least this makes good use of it. Push similarly whacked cloves of garlic and a couple of chillies (yes I know it looks like a carrot) into the jar. Stand back and admire your handiwork. Strain off the gunky stuff and bottle up.
