The Proud Garden: Midnight Beauty Seedless Black Grape
http://theproudgarden.blogspot.com/2010/09/midnight-beauty-seedless-black-grape.html
Monday, September 13, 2010. Midnight Beauty Seedless Black Grape. I found out that these were developed by the agri-business company Sun World. Under registered trademark which means that growing them in my garden will never happen. No seeds, no seedling, and being a hybrid guarantees that I wouldn't get the same plant anyway. September 13, 2010 at 11:38 PM. Oh mmm, black beauties indeed! September 14, 2010 at 8:31 AM. I bet these would make great raisins! September 14, 2010 at 8:49 AM. It might be trick...

The Proud Garden: June 2015
http://theproudgarden.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Goodbye June, hello July. I only ever get a tiny yield from my rhubarb but added together with strawberry and it makes a delicious tart. Wednesday, June 10, 2015. 2015 is looking to be a good year in the garden. A proper spring season with mild temps made it possible to set out a lot of transplants in late April, and an early summer had done nothing but absolute good for the garden. I hope the weather continues on like this for the next few months! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Proud Garden: December 2014
http://theproudgarden.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 25, 2014. Usually I buy only poinsettias for the holiday season but these are so easy to grow, I don't know why I never thought to include amaryllis too. The plant is on its second scape and there's another one peeking out of the bulb. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Blogging is cheap therapy but not as instantly gratifying as the retail kind. The Proud Garden: What I really wanted was Cherokee “Purple” sauce
http://theproudgarden.blogspot.com/2010/08/what-i-really-wanted-was-cherokee.html
Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Wanted was Cherokee “Purple” sauce. Surely I'm not the first. I love the color of Cherokee Purples sooooooooo. Much (spreads arms wide apart) that I was compelled to capture that deep smoky red within a delicious sauce. Well, I'm sorry to report that the purple. Hmmmmand then for dinner, I stuffed 5 Rouge d'Irak heirlooms with rice and pork sausage. They were so good that I didn't even think about taking photos. Tonight we eat homemade pizza topped with more tomatoes....Also,...

The Proud Garden: December 2013
http://theproudgarden.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 19, 2013. This dish comes together fast; the only time-consuming part is topping off and removing the seeds and white membrane within the peppers. Also, if you don't like hot hot, use a less fiery pepper than a habanero or use none at all. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Blogging is cheap therapy but not as instantly gratifying as the retail kind. The New Good Life. Just another WordPress.com site. Hello, hello…. It’s been a while. Garden Share Collective – March →. FoodIsFree – a local initiative. February 10, 2015. Some time late last week I came home to find a flyer from a neighbour in my letterbox. She was inviting the residents of the street to participate in a local movement called #FoodIsFree. I know, my sign needs work. I’ll get Miss Five onto it next time. 8211; which conveniently is located just near Miss Three’s kindergarten, I sh...

A mid-year book review – Part 1 | The New Good Life
https://thenewgoodlife.wordpress.com/2015/07/06/a-mid-year-book-review-part-1
The New Good Life. Just another WordPress.com site. Have you met Miss 6? A mid-year book review – Part 1. July 6, 2015. Today marks the midway point of the mid year school holidays and I thought now was a perfect time to review what I’ve been reading. Sadly, there have been times when reading for pleasure has been pushed aside for school work, uni work or just work in general, but I can’t live like that for too long so it always comes back to the front eventually. The stories were bleak and often depress...

The Proud Garden: Fenugreek and red cabbage sprouts success
http://theproudgarden.blogspot.com/2012/05/fenugreek-and-red-cabbage-sprouts.html
Friday, May 4, 2012. Fenugreek and red cabbage sprouts success. Maybe it's a little too soon to be doing the happy dance but for this second do-it-yourself attempt, growing sprouts ( germogli. Jehr-MOH-l'yee in italian), was ridiculously easy. So easy, in fact, that I've got it in mind to try whatever's out on the market, starting with the Geo brand by Bavicchi seeds. Red cabbage seeds after soaking overnight. Red cabbage sprouts - 5th day. Excess moisture needs to be removed in order for sprouts to ...
