The story goes that Harwich once had the highest density of pubs in the land and it is quite easy to locate over 40 in the old town alone. Of course as the years have gone by and the town and habits have changed that number has fallen significantly but there are 8 still open today and they are joined by a number of licensed hotels, restaurants and cafes.
