Your Favorite Holiday memory captured in a unique way. I have undertaken commissions for many years now. Most people anticipate an artist to just copy a single photo but I prefer to ask for a number of photos of the subject. I then ask questions of the client about the subject and try and gain an understanding of what is behind the commission, what key elements should be included and possibly those that should not! Invariably therefore its watercolours, my trusty old Rembrandt set of half pans, a scroll of mixed brushes and a collapsible water pot with string - handy for throwing into streams etc. I like to use both pages of my sketch books to produce a landscape view - gives you more room but does take longer. It shows how artists have used almost any medium to create a book, such as basic pigments used by Richard Long in his hand prints compared to lazer-. Cut paper by Anish. There are historical works alongside contemporary interpretations of the book which make this an intriguing exhibition. It continues until June 29 th.
