Pushing the Angry Button: April 2010
http://angrybutton.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Pushing the Angry Button. Being angry about living in the UK today. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Never mind the b* * * * Gordon. One way and another, the media has played a far bigger part in this General Election campaign than any other in British history. Today's huge gaffe by Gordon Brown, calling Gillian Duffy, a lifelong Labour voter from Rochdale, Lancashire 'a bigoted woman' has the potential to totally destroy Labour's slim chances of winning on May 6th. For Mind's reaction to the planned changes.

Pushing the Angry Button: December 2008
http://angrybutton.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Pushing the Angry Button. Being angry about living in the UK today. Monday, December 22, 2008. Has Christmas come down to this? 24 years ago, Bob Geldof and Midge Ure wrote a song called 'Do they Know it's Christmas'. They got together a whole crowd of friends (calling themselves collectively Band Aid) from the British pop scene to make a record and a video to raise money for famine in Ethiopia. Charities always suffer in a recession, but if someone shakes a charity tin at you while you are out doing you...

Pushing the Angry Button: Not grasping the nettle
http://angrybutton.blogspot.com/2010/05/not-grasping-nettle.html
Pushing the Angry Button. Being angry about living in the UK today. Thursday, May 27, 2010. Not grasping the nettle. I am somewhat disappointed in the Lib-Dem/Conservative coalition's planned welfare changes. What they amount to is beating sick people with a stick and threatening to take away their benefits because ATOS is incapable of making a fair assessment of whether they can work. This is why so many people appeal and there is up to a 9-month wait for a tribunal hearing. Posted by Jenny Fletcher.

Pushing the Angry Button: Candidate's debate
http://angrybutton.blogspot.com/2010/04/candidates-debate.html
Pushing the Angry Button. Being angry about living in the UK today. Thursday, April 15, 2010. I'm about to watch the very first American style candidate's debate on TV. The media have been building up to it all day, speculating on which policies are going to capture the nation's imagination and win votes. Now the moment has arrived it feels like a damp squib. Because the application form isn't fit for purpose and because ATOS reportedly employs medical assessors who don't meet standards for the NHS eithe...

Pushing the Angry Button: May 2009
http://angrybutton.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Pushing the Angry Button. Being angry about living in the UK today. Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Still off topic, but angrier. Q How many Members of Parliament does it take to change a lightbulb? A MP's don't screw in lightbulbs, they only screw the taxpayer. Posted by Jenny Fletcher. Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Links to this post. Sunday, May 10, 2009. Sometimes you have to stop being angry for a moment and smile. Read it all the way thru though cos it does have a point to make. Husband #6 was from Administration;...

Pushing the Angry Button: January 2009
http://angrybutton.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Pushing the Angry Button. Being angry about living in the UK today. Saturday, January 24, 2009. Obama's brave move for womens' health. I am sure that I am going to offend some people with this post, but I offer no apology for it. I hope those I might upset, just remember that it is a point of view about choice. They choose to refuse or control choice and I emphatically don't agree with that. No-one should take this as a blanket approval of abortion from the new President (although they probably will), bu...

Pushing the Angry Button: July 2009
http://angrybutton.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Pushing the Angry Button. Being angry about living in the UK today. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Art in times of trouble. That, or something similar was the title of a TV programme I watched tonight while I enjoyed a simple supper of omelette and chunky potato fries (rustic oven chips to my Brit audience). I'm not putting links to any images in this post. If you have to go and look for them for yourselves, it might make you remember them better. Posted by Jenny Fletcher. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Mr Brown clear...

Pushing the Angry Button: September 2009
http://angrybutton.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Pushing the Angry Button. Being angry about living in the UK today. Thursday, September 17, 2009. I'm laughing for a change. A bit of an ironic laugh, it's true, but I thought I would share it with you all. At last Gordon Brown decided to throw the towel in and resign. His cabinet colleagues decided it would be a worthy gesture to name a railway locomotive after him. So a senior 'Sir Humphrey' went from Whitehall to the National Railway Museum at York, to investigate the possibilities. Links to this post.
