This is a classic of David Shrigleys work. by placing a caption and sign in this image completely changes the perception and point of view of the image. One of the interesting things about this image and in other pieces of his work is that he is able to take standard and ordinary photographs and with a simple sign transform and portray a whole new concept. It explores the natural aspects of photography, as the shapes in this image are all natural in this image. With Photoshop manipulation I was able to enhance the natural structure of the tree and later increase the contrast of tones. I chose to compose this image in this way to create more of an abstract theme. Larr; Previous post.

Here are just a few shots I have taken towards my David Maisel research, you can quite clearly see that most of the shots have been taken in a very close up position, in order to make the photo’s abstract. The reason why I decided to make a dream catcher for my final piece is because as our theme was ‘Different View Points’ I wanted to show everyone that people have different view points on what they dream of. Therefore I feel that my final piece links well to my theme as it shows the difference in dreams.
