August 19, 2008. This post has nothing to do with how our trip is going, just some thoughts I’ve had regarding traveling that I thought I’d share for anyone who might have a road trip in their future. People have asked us how and what we’ve been eating, we are after all talking about food. Has been great for this, as was Ukrops. We also try to find independent coffee shops using Delocator. Thanks to the Sharps. We have a great book called Healthy Highways. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Build a website with...

August 22, 2008. We finished our final Justice Kitchen up in Fort Collins, Colorado at the home of Amanda and Kyle. Thanks to Makesha for putting this together, and to everyone who joined us. It was a great night. We drove into town Monday afternoon after spending the morning in Denver, and we found a “you pick farm” called Eden Valley Farms. In the Rocky Mountains about 30 minutes outside of town. Their rows were full of kale, cabbage, broccoli, beets and more. August 19, 2008. Thanks to the Sharps.

FOLK CRUNCH: August 2005
http://folkcrunch.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 21, 2005. A GIRL WITH A GUITAR. Charlotte Thistle, Seattle's own Sweetheart of Folk, gives us a shiny treasure of a CD with her new release A Girl With A Guitar. Along with 'So Blue', which is one of those songs I can listen to over and over and over again, 'Danny', 'Heroin', and 'Reluctant Bride' are all stand out tracks, and Folk Grrrls everywhere will find an anthem to love with 'Mommy, Why? A Girl With A Guitar. CHARLOTTE THISTLE www.agirlwithaguitar.com. Monday, August 15, 2005. Guara...

FOLK CRUNCH: March 2010

Friday, March 12, 2010. CHARLOTTE THISTLE BAND: WILD WIND. Gives us another treasure trove of gems with the new CD release Wild Wind. Follows Charlotte's suburb 2005 release A Girl With A Guitar. And both her voice and musical style have matured nicely. The first track on the disc, What if I'd Stayed. Is another track that stands out and also has a jazz feel within the vocals and Andy Short's bass line. My favorite track on the album, Dare To Resist. Immediately came to mind. Brings a nice, rounded finis...

Saturday, July 31, 2010. WES WEDDELL: NORTHWEST FOLK SUPERSTAR. I first heard of Wes Weddell in 2001 while listening to NPR (National Public Radio). Wes was being interviewed because he had put together an independent study project through the University of Washington to travel the Northwest and garner local folklore and history and then use the gathered stories as inspiration for writing songs. That's a pretty clever way of working music into your history major! In 2007 Wes released another highly regar...

FOLK CRUNCH: April 2008

Sunday, April 06, 2008. WHERE HAVE I BEEN? After a two year hiatus I am back on-line as The Real Folk Diva: Billie Dove . . . The photo above is our most loved Roger Dodger . . . RIP. I am now residing in New York City! Here's how I got there:. In December of 2005 we took the plunge - sold our house and left Seattle - a big step for me - I had never lived anywhere else . . . I was both exhilarated and terrified. Good Bye Seattle. Place of my birth! New Mexico was quaint and pretty with very nice folks w...

Wednesday, September 16, 2009. PK DWYER: TIMELESS TROUBADOUR. After living a fairly settled life in the Seattle area for about ten years, PK Dwyer left life in the Pacific Northwest in 2005 and took his boisterous brand of roots and blues on a coffeehouse tour of the Southeast and a pilgrimage to the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. Deciding it really is time for change PK prepares to take what some would call another erratic turn with a move to Albuquerque, NM in April of 2010. To lose my family.

Sunday, February 28, 2010. Cheese Pie is a favorite recipe of mine. Easy to make and delicious to eat, it makes an elegant and romantic dinner paired with a nice salad and glass of wine. Cheese Pie also makes an excellent breakfast served with Faux Bacon and Extra Strong Coffee. Best served warm, straight from the oven. If you can stir and follow directions, you can make Cheese Pie. Here's The Recipe . . . Butter, for greasing pan. 1 Extra Large Egg. 3/4 Cup All Purpose Flour. 1 Cup Grated Muenster Cheese.
