OAE, ABR, ASSR. 近年很多國家都推出新生嬰兒聽覺普查計劃，醫療機構會為每一位剛出生的嬰兒進行聽覺測試。 計劃目標是於嬰兒出生的一個月內完成聽覺篩選，三個月內診斷聽障，並於六個月內開始專業跟進，包括醫學、聽力學及早期訓練方面的安排。 資料來源:Joint Committee on infant hearingPosition Statement 2007). 由1978年開始，香港已經開始提供幼兒聽力測試服務。當時母嬰健康院使用的測試方法是”分散注意力測試法”(又名:Distraction Test)。檢查人員會由左右後方給予各種不同頻率、分貝的聲音刺激，觀察嬰兒對聲音的反應來記錄。 由2003年8月開始，香港母嬰健康院開始使用耳聲反射(OAE)作為新生嬰兒的聽覺測試方法，測試結果準確性大大提高。 (資料來源: HK J Paediatr 2008;13:275-278).
