HI & BI...Heather & Alex

HI and BI.Heather and Alex. Monday, February 13, 2012. Life in the NICU. The little guys are now a bit over 2 weeks old, and are scheduled to come home this Wednesday! The feeding tubes came out a few days ago, however, and both have gotten the hang of sucking. I've been pumping and having them take breastmilk from a bottle. So far, so good (fingers crossed :). Have subsided, but he definitely reacts to stimuli. Currently weighs 5.1 pounds. I'll miss that place! The nurses have been wonderful. They m...

HI & BI...Heather & Alex: April 2011 Vacay

http://heatheralex.blogspot.com/2011/05/april-2011-vacay.html

HI and BI.Heather and Alex. Sunday, May 15, 2011. Alex got April off this year and it was spent in Vegas. By far, the longest time we've spent there as "visitors" and we had a fantastic time. This one month off each year makes residency tolerable and is one of the few things I'll miss about it when it's over (2ish years to go! We went to The Wicked Spoon. Lizzie even had a blast! Easter was wonderful. We had dinner and an Easter egg hunt at the Stratton's. A major hit. Obsessed. We headed to the Wynn.

HI & BI...Heather & Alex: June 2011

http://heatheralex.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

HI and BI.Heather and Alex. Monday, June 20, 2011. A week ago, Lizzie had her first birthday! It was quite an exciting day, at least for Alex and me. We really cannot believe it's been a year since this little girl came into our lives. This is the first birthday card she received. I cannot stop laughing at this photo. After taking so many pictures, Lizzie sees the camera and instantly starts squinting in preparation for the flash. Funny girl. We didn't do anything fancy (since my summery beach theme got ...

HI & BI...Heather & Alex: 4th of July

http://heatheralex.blogspot.com/2011/07/4th-of-july.html

HI and BI.Heather and Alex. Friday, July 8, 2011. We had a nice 4th this year here in the East Bay. The holiday is a great excuse to dress Lizzie up in her patriotic garb and take cute photos. The morning of the 4th, we brought Lizzie over to our neighborhood park for a mini photo shoot. She had fun as always. Here she is standing by herself again! Still not walking alone yet. That picture of her standing with the flags is so freaken cute! Im glad we got to share some of the 4th with you!

HI & BI...Heather & Alex: June 2010

http://heatheralex.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

HI and BI.Heather and Alex. Saturday, June 26, 2010. Our little girl came into the world this past Sunday, June 20 at 11:48pm. She made it just in the nick of time for Father's Day! Her stats: 6.0 pounds, 20 inches. We love her to pieces and she is the most precious thing. After checking in, the nurses checked and sure enough, I was leaking amniotic fluid- admitted I became. At that point we called the parents since it was official the baby was on the way- surprise! Kaiser provides a celebration dinner, ...

Fun Times: March 2012

http://isom4.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 1, 2012. One of the NOT fun days in August was hearing that my older sister Desirae was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. This took our whole family by surprise! For a couple reasons: 1. There is/was NO family history. 2. She was only 33, that is WAY to young. I wanted to do something for her but not sure what. So I turned to crocheting. I made this lap blanket for her and a couple hats (which I never got pictures of before I sent them her way). For Memorial Day this year we stayed here and J...

Fun Times: July 2012

http://isom4.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 14, 2012. Talk about stress. I tried not to think much about it but just prayed that he would be healthy and I would be able to handle whatever the Lord sent us. I always felt that I would never go to my due date. He didn't want to leave me by myself but knew he needed to go with the baby. I was still doing okay, I didn't freak out or cry, I was calm. My RN was fabulous! Give him the surfactant and lets get him breathing! On Friday he was visited by Grandpa, Daniel, Chantelle and Des.

Fun Times: August Happenings

http://isom4.blogspot.com/2012/09/august-happenings.html

Wednesday, September 12, 2012. We blessed Kaiden the begininng of August. Our ward has a milliion babies born every month so we decided we would bless him at my parents. It was a beautiful blessing with lots of family and friends. I pulled the camera out late so I didn't get a picture of everybody that was there. Proud parents. We didn't get a family picture because the kids were off playing with cousins. Kaiden and Grandma Jeannie. This young man is now in the third grade! Luke started the same week as ...

Sunday, March 20, 2011. Logie Bear turns 7! I can't believe that I have been a mom for seven years! It is crazy to think about that day. The pregnancy was AWESOME. I was sick only one day. I felt great the whole time, I guess that was a blessing considering the incredibly hard delivery. Logan has been a sweet ball of fire since the minute he came out and tried to pee on the doctor. I guess that was a sign of what was to come. He wanted to have a Harry Potter birthday this year. A HUGE Raylie hug! Chantel...

Then onto the Castle Cake. All of the Beautiful Princesses that came! Thea, Ashlynn, Nelyana, Raylie, Madison, Italy, Cairo. Four things about Raylie:. Fun Times: October 2012

http://isom4.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 22, 2012. My baby girl is 6! She is such a great helper (most of the time). She LOVES her baby brother. For her birthday she had a few simple requests: a baby alive, a color bear and a puzzle. A soft fleece blanket from Grandma and Grandpa so she would stop stealing theirs. Some Lalaloopsi sheets and memory card for a camera (that we later discovered it didn't work). The CAKE for our Raylie Cakers! Hope you had a great birthday cutie pie! This sweet little man is 4 1/2 months old!

interrobangs

I was browsing new books at a shop this weekend, picking them up, reading some flap copy, flipping to the text, and putting things back on shelves (or, for the lucky few, into my bookbag). It occurred to me then, and I can’t say why not before then, that the experience was very much like reading queries. You take the book home and dig in excitedly and either it is as wonderful as you’d hoped and you can’t wait to tell everyone, or it falls flat and you move on. Well then, surprise! Keep it in mind when y...
