Self Sacrifice Through the Eyes of Motherhood. Do you ever have times when God gently slaps you in the face with the same lesson 3 or 4 times in a row. Then finally after the 3rd or 4th smack you realize that HE might be trying to make a point… Yep. That has been me this last week. God has slapped me right upside the head, gently, albeit still a slap. Lately, God has really brought me to a place of refocusing my role as a mother and a wife. This path came as a complete surprise to me, as I have shared.

Making the Most of Every Day. Sunday, April 28, 2013. Getting Back to Healthy. Lately I have been feeling no motivation in the kitchen. I do love to cook but I like to have time. I don't like to be rushed and right now I pretty much feel rushed ALL the time! I feel like I don't have very much time to make dinner and get it on the table, let alone peruse recipes and make grocery lists. Again, still figuring out this two kid thing. I will let you guys know how it goes! Wednesday, April 24, 2013. At Elizabe...

Making the Most of Every Day. Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Rebecca Lately: 2 and 1/2 Years. I didn't do these posts every month the first year of Rebecca's life or the second. I have always done them sporadically thinking I would probably stop once she turned two. But I think I will continue to do them here and there. It's a great way to record time and a way I can look back and at least have a sliver of all the things I often think I should write this down. Pre-school just started again and I was a little ...

Making the Most of Every Day. Tuesday, December 31, 2013. 2013 started with a bang! Miss Rebecca turned two years old and Elizabeth's birth quickly followed three weeks later along with James's 30th birthday on the same day! I did pull off a birthday dinner a week early.just in case! I do feel bad sometimes that both of the girls' birthdays fall pretty quick after Christmas but I actually love it! January though used to be my drab month. Not anymore! Lunch after Rebecca's 2nd birthday party. We also road...

Letters from the nest. Notes from a small house on a big farm. When satan steals your motherhood. January 28, 2014. December 12, 2015. Motherhood and making a home. And all of that madness and anger? It wasn’t the kids. It was me. The mother. The one who left a pair of Superman undies in a bathroom we rarely use for days, fed the cat without my glasses after someone else forgot, and the loud, obnoxious, downright scary human being I can be when I have just had more than I can handle. Satan also loves it ...

Making the Most of Every Day. Wednesday, March 6, 2013. I used to not be a casserole person. I used to like to keep my food all separate from one another. I really have no idea why. The only thing I can think of is that I wasn't raised eating very many casseroles. They are (usually) easy to make and easy to double. Which leads me to my next point. They freeze well. It can also be a great way to hide veggies from your little ones or even in my case sometimes from myself. HA! 1/3 cup milk 1 egg. One of the...
