Friday, July 6, 2012. I thought I would take a few minutes and talk about a couple of the little things we've managed to cross off our list this week. Baby steps right? And actually, I shouldn't even say it like that because they aren't baby steps at all really! If *I* were doing them, it would take me the next year to figure out! On that note, here we go. First off, deck. This past week Steve completed all the deck boards on BOTH decks (WOOHOO! The white railings look so lovely. Such an improvement....

Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Well now, ain't this the truth? We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are. As you create a home, don’t get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don’t dwell on your failures, but think about your successes.

http://objectivehome.blogspot.com/2012/04/industrial-modern-fun.html
Thursday, April 26, 2012. After a night full of working (mostly Steve) until 2am, we wrapped up the shelving unit! It looks 1000x better than I even imagined and I couldn't be any more thrilled with it. My incredible husband amazes me with his skills! He always works so hard to see my ideas and designs come to fruition. What a guy! Without further ado, here is our industrial/mid-century modern work of art. VOILA! Don't mind the TV cords. Soon to be moved behind the TV. A bunch of the pieces I have found ...

objective:home: DIY Gallery Wall
http://objectivehome.blogspot.com/2012/03/diy-gallery-wall.html
Friday, March 30, 2012. I debated posting this or not. I couldn't decide if I wanted to wait until it was completely finished, or if I should just go ahead and do a mini-reveal now. Clearly I went with the latter! Here is our gallery wall in our (still unpainted) family room as of today:. Progress is progress right? Why, do you ask, did I decide to put the frames up now then? Let's take a peek at how the wall evolved, shall we? Here is the photo I snapped on my phone of the display:. So I started just la...

Play Room PROGRESS (more HERE. Andwell, click the label ENTRYWAY in the sidebar for more! Master Bedroom AFTER (oh i love gray! Follow along as we keep on keepin' on! Object...

Thursday, September 13, 2012. Whew it's dusty in here! Why hello blog friends! I am here. Still. I see you all visiting everyday (ummm 300 views a day? Sorry to be absent the last 2 months (wow, where did all that time go? I've been prioritizing my life this summer, and Steve/kids/photography had to be in the top 3. Then keeping the house clean. Then sleep. Then blog. Sooooo as you can see, the blog has been left in the dust! See you soon, tata for now! You should have seen it with the glass shades!

Saturday, February 11, 2012. See this lovely little (well, BIG) framed chalkboard? Oh it is just the perfect size for above that desk. Which again, looks TINY! Remind me never to use that stinkin' kit lens again. Distortion is wacky! I knew there was a reason I had it in the attic for the last 2 years. Why do I keep getting on tangents here? Maybe because it is 9:45 pm and we spent the day painting the play room and wrangling three kiddos? OK For real now, I'm getting down to business. Now, this framed a...

http://objectivehome.blogspot.com/2012/05/think-outside-box.html
Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Think Outside The Box. Today I thought I would do an intro piece for my post on wall hangings. Later I am going to delve into techniques and tricks for decorating your wall space. I'll go into more detail about how to get it right, and give you a handful of good hints for figuring it out in your home. But that's not for today. When we moved into this house, I knew I was going to have get creative. Especially with the walls. Which is still empty! I was trying to figure out how to ...
