Staying in the wilderness, or not chasing that goal. Or what it’s like to run the best race of your life. May 5, 2014. May 5, 2014. I’ve been trying to write this post for nearly 2 weeks now and I just cannot get a handle on the angle I should be taking. Should I tell you about all the great stuff I did with my mother? About all the wonderful friends I saw and spent time with? The superstars I collared for a photo? Or just the race? To do well, to run strong, to. Jess – my wonderful hostess upon ar...

Staying in the wilderness, or not chasing that goal. A race, interrupted training and the new year. January 11, 2015. So I ran the race. And I loved it. I never really understand that I don’t race much, have to be coaxed into racing and then when I do it I love it. Why do I resist doing something I enjoy? Most times (London 2013 was an exception) I am beaming from ear to ear,… Continue reading A race, interrupted training and the new year. Middot; next marathon. December 5, 2014. December 5, 2014. Teach Mom Run: Happy New Year!
http://teachmomrun.blogspot.com/2014/01/happy-new-year.html
Thursday, January 2, 2014. Staying home this year has made me realize how much I can simplify things. I have so much I want to do, however I need to prioritize some other areas of my life so that I make what I want to do a priority. It was then I realized that I was living a very reactive life at home instead of proactive. Thus, the need to create some routines that will simplify life in 2014. Pork Chops and Sauerkraut. 4 bone-in pork chops. 2 jars of sauerkraut. 1 tablespoon canola oil. Thats funny....

August 31, 2011. To Race or Not To Race. 8212; Tags: Group Run. 8212; marathonmaiden @ 12:43. It’s probably a silly question. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love racing: going fast is awesome. But on the other hand, I’ve let myself get way out of racing shape. Mostly by running long and slow but also not taking care of myself terribly well this past summer. In retrospect maybe I could have done things differently but whatever, I did what I needed to do. The first week that I was here (and for those of you...

.:Capturing My World:.: Beardliness
http://capturingmyworld10.blogspot.com/2011/08/beardliness.html
Monday, August 1, 2011. As per my dad every 10 yrs he goes through a beard stage. Unannounced to all of us this was that year. Although, I have good grounds to believe that a certain "man vacation" caused this outrage of beardliness. So I have documented this time, who knows if I'll be around in another 10 yrs to experience this phenomenon in the future. A good lookin guy no matter the fuzz. August 1, 2011 at 10:08 PM. Sunday, October 31, 2010. You can never turn your back on the ocean.". I never really experienced the ocean to its fullest or that much water in general. Until this last summer in Washington. I am so amazed at how vast it is. You can not see the end, just goes on and on. I was lucky enough to have a native islander of Oak Harbor show me all the great views of the Ocean and tour the beaches. Also, my lovely sister and her family showed me even more of its splendor! View from Fort Casey. Monday, October 25...

I don't mind cleaning up poop and vomit, I don't mind getting bit, scratched or growled at and I don’t mind the long days on my feet and the emotional and physical stress. Monday, April 25, 2011. How Great Thou Art". O Lord my God,. When I in awesome wonder. The works Thy Hand hath made,. I see the stars,. I hear the rolling thunder,. The universe displayed;. When through the woods. And forest glades I wander. I hear the birds. Sing sweetly in the trees;. When I look down. From lofty mountain grandeur. And hear the brook. And feel the gentle breeze;. When Christ shall come,. With shouts of acclamation,. And take me home,. What joy shall fill my heart! Then I shall bow.
