Jen the Youth Services Librarian. Having fun.on the job. :-). Thursday, May 16, 2013. Teen Job Fair - April 2013. I approached the head of our community's Boys and Girls Club Teen Center last fall to see if he would be interested in collaborating with us on offering a Teen Job Fair this spring. He agreed, and WOW, for the first time ever doing a program like this (and a very new program to our library) - what an amazing success it was! I have to say, I was very proud of recruiting that cranberry grower&#...

COME INTO DELIGHT: September 2013
http://comeintodelight.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Life in the library and beyond. Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Signs Signs Everywhere Signs. Summer was a big blast of change along with all of the usual summer frenzy at the library. I certainly breathed a sigh of relief when it was over, as most of us do,when the summer reading program is finally put to bed. Since we have been undergoing gigantic staff changes, including the director(and no, he was not replaced by the kangaroo, although he did get things hopping). Links to this post. A CUP OF JO. http://journeyintolis.blogspot.com/2012/07/100-book-challenge-june-2012.html
Journey as a School Librarian. Saturday, July 21, 2012. 100 Book Challenge - June 2012. June was busier than I thought it would be. Between closing things up in my library, helping with inventory at the elementary library, attending my own children's events, I had precious little time for reading. I did manage to read the following titles:. Insurgent by Veronica Roth. The Forgotten Affairs of Youth by Alexander McCall Smith. Little Brother by Cory Doctorow. The Diviners by Libba Bray. Back in the Saddle.

Journey as a School Librarian: August 2011
http://journeyintolis.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Journey as a School Librarian. Friday, August 26, 2011. 100 Book Challenge - July update. I am a bit behind in getting this out. Moving almost 200 miles away, being without Internet/TV for a week and a half, starting a new job, getting lost a dozen times even with the Garmin - these are the things I'm blaming for my lateness. They're also the things I'm blaming for not even coming close to where I need to be to hit my goal. Oh well, there's always next year. The Dog Who Came in From the Cold. The problem...

http://journeyintolis.blogspot.com/2012/04/100-book-challenge-january-2012.html
Journey as a School Librarian. Thursday, April 19, 2012. 100 Book Challenge - January 2012. Since I fell short of my goal last year, I decided to keep the same goal and see what happens. Who knows - now that I don't have to worry about moving the whole family, starting a brand new job, and all the fun that comes with all those changes, maybe I will hit 100 this year. Here's my list for January:. Stay With Me by Paul Griffin. Everybody Sees the Ants by A.S. King. Without Tess by Marcella Fleischman Pixley.
