Points Extraordinary & Domestic: Camping, Fall 2014
http://pointsend.blogspot.com/2015/07/camping-fall-2014.html
Points Extraordinary and Domestic. Friday, July 31, 2015. Camping, Fall 2014. The ground we pitched on was sloped a bit. I put Caleb up near the top, figuring he is lighter. He still managed to creep down and give me about 6" of sleeping room. Later that day, D had the boys work on trying to light kindling with flint and steel. This was a very difficult task! Exhausted, Caleb and I went to our tent and fell asleep with little difficulty. Then we drove home. So that was the weekend. Note Capitalism as not...

Points Extraordinary & Domestic: You were in flight with my heart
http://pointsend.blogspot.com/2012/03/you-were-in-flight-with-my-heart.html
Points Extraordinary and Domestic. Monday, March 19, 2012. You were in flight with my heart. Look at you. Fireworks! And when you came back, we high-fived, we were two boys who just made fire, we waved our arms, we were kings in the street. Wow! Monday, March 19, 2012. Especially this: You were in flight with my heart. :) Words to be treasured from a great dad. And as much as I wish I had been home to watch, Im so, so happy you and Caleb had this moment together! Points Extraordinary & Domestic: February 2010
http://pointsend.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Points Extraordinary and Domestic. Wednesday, February 03, 2010. Happy happy joy joy. We just got back from a road trip to Indiana. L's grandmother celebrated her eightieth birthday. (I hope I'm that spry at eighty.). The road trip itself was a kind of trial run for a much longer trip to Disney World later in the year. Can kids and parents cope with each other while being strapped into a moving box for hours on end? Oh, we're also getting a dog. More on that later. Wednesday, February 03, 2010.

Points Extraordinary & Domestic: July 2009
http://pointsend.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Points Extraordinary and Domestic. Thursday, July 30, 2009. Looking back: the emotion. Four months. That's how long I was out of work. From Advent to Easter. And now that I am on the other side of it (thanks be to God), it is tempting to make light of the experience. It is almost bad form to admit that it was anything more than something analogous to taking a good, cold dip in the pool on a morning. Why not leave well enough alone? Is it truly nothing personal? What is exactly being said? Hope for] ....

Furr Journey: April 2009
http://mattfurr.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
My journey of trust and dependence on God. Wednesday, April 08, 2009. The sad lie of mediocrity By Seth Godin. The sad lie of mediocrity. Doing 4% less does not get you 4% less. Doing 4% less may very well get you 95% less. That's because almost good enough gets you nowhere. No sales, no votes, no customers. The sad lie of mediocrity is the mistaken belief that partial effort yields partial results. In fact, the results are usually totally out of proportion to the incremental effort. When God Provides a ...

Furr Journey: Izak - a birthday tribute
http://mattfurr.blogspot.com/2009/10/izak-birthday-tribute.html
My journey of trust and dependence on God. Thursday, October 15, 2009. Izak - a birthday tribute. In a few hours, my son will turn 7 years old. I remember so much of that night and day. I remember the excitement of having Heidi wake me up and tell me it's time. I remember the adrenaline rush of driving to the hospital in the middle of the night - permission to speed! And now.7 years later, I've gotten to know that little critter a bit better. Here's what I've learned about your oldest son:. He's a good r...
