Pigging Out in NYC. Eating adventures in NYC and beyond. Friday, December 21, 2012. Become A Wine Snob on the cheap with Groupon. Wine, glorious wine. Is there a nagging feeling inside your head that you should. Learn a little something about wine? For moments like being confronted with a voluminous wine list at a posh restaurant, and not being able to distinguish between Burgundy and Bordeaux? And what the heck is terroir, or tannins for that matter? Salvation came in the form of Groupon. Neither did I,...

Pigging Out in NYC. Eating adventures in NYC and beyond. Thursday, July 01, 2010. All aboard the Sushi Train! Update: One of my friends said, "This is all very nice, but what do you do if your favorite sushi just never reaches you? Hmmm, more food for thought. Pigging Out in NYC. Eating adventures in NYC and beyond. Monday, June 20, 2011. Yemas de Santa Theresa in Avila. Busloads of tourists congregated at the tiny overlook off the main road, jostling for position to snap photos of themselves with the walled city of Avila in the background. Has long been famous for its association with St. Theresa, the female patron saint of Spain. Her presence in this town is unmissable, with her remains inside the eponymous convent. I would have wanted to get my hands on ano...

LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO WORK SATURDAYS. Monday, January 12, 2015. DAVAO EATS: Lyndon's World's Worst Ribs and Awful Chicken sagingrepablik. Was in Durian City over the Christmas holidays; and of course, a large part of the trip was devoted to eating at local restos. I had stumbled upon Lyndon's on the Instagram account of a semi-famous foodie blogger, and was immediately intrigued by the name. What self-respecting restaurant would call its ribs the "world's worst" and its chicken "awful"? And here was my aw...
