Uniqart: January 2015
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Monday, 26 January 2015. I've also sewn a backing to a large piece of patchwork made by my mother - I am sure some of these fabrics are from summer dresses she made for me as a child. I hated them at the time, but now it is a lovely reminder of days gone by and I am in awe of the patience my mum must have had to make this. My sister has the double bed version! Still to be sewn are some cushion covers, then the room can be officially declared finsihed! Friday, 23 January 2015. We're on Radio 4! I have NEV...

Uniqart: Back On Form...
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015/05/back-on-form.html
Friday, 22 May 2015. After the cow parsley debacle, I was wondering what to paint and had a search through a file on my computer labelled 'photos for future paintings' and found this one that I had forgotten about. It's the view from my partner's apartment window when he was working in Belgium one snowy morning. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Where to buy my book. Spring and distressed looks. | Purple Iris Crafts
https://purpliris.wordpress.com/2011/01/26/spring-and-distressed-looks
Arts, Crafts and other creative pursuits. Spring and distressed looks. I am absolutely loving my Tim holtz distress inks, they are absolutely versatile and give amazing distressed effects to even the simplest of cards. Can you see the hidden rabbit? I love this topper, and I wanted the rabbit to look shy🙂. Multi embossed grasses in black and silver, with a dash of peeled paint distress inks complete the look. I also misted the topper with Glimmer mists for a delicate shimmer. Till next time,. You are co...

Uniqart: Progress Report
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015/08/progress-report.html
Wednesday, 12 August 2015. I'm a bit taken aback at how well this one is coming along - I've not spent that much time on it to be honest, probably no more than 4 hours in total. Sometimes a painting just flows, other times it's really hard work. This is in watercolour and I'm trying not to get fixated on the detail too much. I also received a bright orange Graphik Line Painter pen by Derwent in the post yesterday and am wondering if it could be used in the final stages for grass stems. Day of the Dead.

Uniqart: May 2015
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 25 May 2015. I was asked to make a cotton waistcoat for someone, and found it surprisingly hard to find a decent pattern similar to what she wanted. This was what I discovered on Knitty.com so went ahead. It wasn't long after starting that I realised just what the word 'piquant' at the top of the pattern meant! Boy, this was complicated! Not difficult, just very complicated and involved a lot of scribbling on paper to keep track of the shaping increases and decreases. Friday, 22 May 2015. After t...

Uniqart: Clearing That Blockage!
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015/08/clearing-that-blockage.html
Saturday, 1 August 2015. However, you can have too much of a good thing and I moved on, but it's always nice to go back to the same subject once in a while. I'm planning on this being quite splashy and loose around the edges, with the detail in the centre only - that's the theory at least! Giving the knitting a rest for a bit - aching thumbs after a busy week. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Where to buy my book.
