Florida Roadtrip 2016

Our 2016 journey to the Gulf Coast of Florida and month in in St. Pete Beach. We avoided the traffic in Atlanta by traveling through Birmingham and spending our second night on the road in Montgomery, Alabama. We also visited Bob's sister and her husband in Panama City Beach, staying for a night in their beautiful condo on the beach. We have the same condo as last year, so the space feels like home.

Monday, March 7, 2016. St Petersburg Grand Prix. We've enjoyed watching the preparations for the St. Petersburg Grand Prix. For several years now. Until this year, the race has always been several weeks later, so we've always been on our way home, or home already, on the day of the race. This year we will be in St. Pete Beach for the race, so we could go to the race if we wanted to do so. Day Maybe I'll hear them this weekend on St. Pete Beach, 10 miles from the course. There's nothing that seems to annoy people more than "saving" seats, and yet so many people do it that I sometimes wonder about the universality of the annoyance. In our parish. The pastor put an end to seat saving for popular ceremonies, like school events, Christmas Eve and the Easter Vigil. Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Florida Orange Groves Winery. Outside the winery, facing Pasadena Boulevard. We've gone by Florida Orange Groves Winery. Many times on our way to our from a destination across the Corey Causeway between St. Pete Beach and South Pasadena. Saturday, March 23, 2013. I had a great night's sleep, perhaps due to the mighty effort I put into finishing my bottle of Old Crow bourbon - I ended up leaving some, but not much. Had to empty a glass or so of a bottle of merlot down the drain. Bob didn't sleep well at all - he's always restless before a travel day and this was no exception. It's good to be home! Florida Road Trip 2015. A journey from winter through spring, to early summer in St. Pete Beach. Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Trouble hit at mile marker 192 in Georgia. Wednesday, April 6, 2016. We thought Tuesday would be an easy day, and it certainly started off that way. We felt we were home when we crossed the border into Wisconsin, not far from Illinois. Florida Road Trip 2014. Driving to Florida for the first time. Tuesday, April 1, 2014. I Still Love Minnesota. Semi in the ditch near Menomonie. We left a little later this morning, closer to 8:30. We crossed into Wisconsin not long after leaving Rockford. Definitely winter weather, and were so glad we'd put on our jeans this morning.
