Aspiring to Simplicity: New Table
http://aspiringtosimplicity.blogspot.com/2012/01/new-table.html
Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Where has the time gone? I've ignored this blog terribly for far too long. I turned 34 over the weekend. My girls are getting so big! It is supposed to snow today, for the first time all winter, basically. The cattle are doing well, the chickens (I think) are doing well (it's hard to count them), and we're starting to get more eggs after their solstice sabbatical. :). During the sanding stage. As it happened, the good people I bought it from delivered the table to my front ya...

Aspiring to Simplicity: October 2011
http://aspiringtosimplicity.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 20, 2011. I have a friend on facebook who calls himself conservative. He posts articles and comments about big government spending, hates the cronyism, is against bailouts and that kind of thing. His daughter's boyfriend explains that the people who are supporting them (? Apparently 'take' their foodstamps. and then my friend responds. They take our foodstamps for them and expect a months worth of foodstamps to last 4 ppl and a [redacted expletive] black hole a month. Do your conservati...

Aspiring to Simplicity: A Chainsaw, Part 1
http://aspiringtosimplicity.blogspot.com/2011/04/chainsaw-part-1.html
Thursday, April 14, 2011. A Chainsaw, Part 1. My grandpa died a couple years back. You remember I got his dishes. It has been a journey for me in several ways, some parts are harder than others. It wasn't until last winter that we were able to lay some rumors to rest, find out truth, and live with it. :). At the end of the two years or so of wondering, and finally figuring out the facts, I was left with some pretty hurtful realizations. My grandpa (and/or my cousin) thinks homeless pets. I don't believe ...

Aspiring to Simplicity: December 2011
http://aspiringtosimplicity.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 19, 2011. I'm knitting. I said I wouldn't, and then I did. Mostly little stuff for little people. I got two knitting books - on my kindle! On a cyber-monday deal. Last Minute Knitted Gifts. And More Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I'm making Christmas gifts of the caloric version. Nothing too extravagant, but I'm laughing because I'm using organic. Popcorn. along with butter, marshmallows, and M&Ms. :P. Not if you're gluten or dairy-free! As does World Vision. There are probably more, too.

Aspiring to Simplicity: Granny's Treasures II
http://aspiringtosimplicity.blogspot.com/2012/02/grannys-treasures-ii.html
Saturday, February 04, 2012. This is another treasure I found at Granny's. It's an old cigar box (and yes, that's my new old table. When it's opened, it still has (I assume) the original pricetag and brand label. I just love the vintage art. Do you suppose that girl represents the '40s? Was it 'vintage art' when it was made, or do you think this was a modern look? I don't know how old the box is, really. It held another treasure inside though. A little old American flag.
