Squire Uganda Missionary Blog: Too well-fed
http://squireugandamission.blogspot.com/2015/08/too-well-fed.html
Sunday, August 16, 2015. To one who has spent the major part of the last year amidst the rubble and destruction of war-torn Europe, this conference has been doubly inspirational and appreciated. As I have looked into the faces of this well-fed (almost too well-fed, in many cases) audience, well-clothed, surrounded with all the comforts and. We found some more pioneers around. Nancy had some extra hats and bonnets so another primary got some new duds. Uganga has huge sugar cane fields and the trucks are a...

Sunday, January 25, 2015. Little bare bums everywhere. He then asks two questions: "(1) Will we as individuals and as a Church keep pace with the Lord's hastening of His work? Or (2) will we as individuals and as a Church insist on doing things the way they have always been done, or the way we are accustomed to or comfortable with? The teacher gave me permission to take some photos. Here he is teaching them mathematics and this is like a summer school. Sister Squire purchased and presented a game ball to...

Squire Uganda Missionary Blog: Lots of pioneers in Africa
http://squireugandamission.blogspot.com/2015/08/lots-of-pioneers-in-africa.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. Lots of pioneers in Africa. Whoa, are you kidding me, this is the last month of our mission. I guess it is time I started to get to work! We love it here but are excited for the chance to renew our love with family and friends in person! But enough about that, we really try not to count the days down because it will happen way to fast as it is. In the book " The Crucible of Doubt,". In Jinja we had the yearly agriculture fair and they get over a million people over the week long e...

Squire Uganda Missionary Blog: June 2014

Sunday, June 29, 2014. Shrine on, Shrine on Harvest Moon. This is the memorial chapel. The beams and cross members all all symbolic of the number of those who were killed. It is surrounded by different shrines to remember the fallen. The Catholic martyrs have all been anointed sainthood because of all the miracles that followed their deaths. The Chapel is surrounded by stained glass with a picure of each of the marters. There was a wedding at the Shrine so we got some great pictures of the bride and groo...

Sunday, July 27, 2014. Lions, Tigers and Bears.Oh my. We love these missionaries but they sure do break down a lot. Actually, it isn't that often but there are just a lot of them. Our first view of Chobe as we walk out on the deck of the Hotel. A dead tree in a tree, wow, only in Africa. A great view of the lodges if you have deep pockets. The balcony where we are eating our lunch. Thanks Reese and Ellie). Now lets get going on our safari, should we? It was actually all on the road as we were driving in ...

Monday, October 27, 2014. Crazy Things Happen in Africa. Would be the result. Dog and cats living together if you get my meaning (if you do get my meaning, write me back because I have no clue.). After the lesson of counting our blessings we had a pumpkin painting activity so we can get in the spirit. Some pictures to follow. Tell me we don't have the cutest missionaries in the world. And they chose hot dogs over hamburgers so they have that going for them as well. Here we are - busy as always. The one n...

Squire Uganda Missionary Blog: April 2015

Saturday, April 25, 2015. Toil and Trouble - Witches Brew. I found this cute girl cleaning the windows and dusting. Getting the "lawn mower" ready. It takes a group of men to sort thing out. It sure beats slashing the grass. Sisters - always ready with a pose. I wonder if I could learn to do this. Yep, even the elders get to sweep, mop and squeegee the floors. After you get grass all over the dirt driveway you need to sweep it clean again. Even the area around the place needs to be swept clean of grass.

Sunday, August 31, 2014. A Man and his Crown. Some weeks are more difficult than others to decide what to post. We had a busy week but nothing extraordinary happened. What is with that? Here we are in a foreign country and nothing too exciting happened? There are more in that one chapter of scripture but so much to learn. I am grateful for it. That doesn't mean we sat around and nothing happened this week. Here are the pictures to prove it. Whoa, what are all these people doing? Isn't there one in every ...

Squire Uganda Missionary Blog: February 2015
http://squireugandamission.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 20, 2015. What is black and white and not read all over? I love studying the New Testament. In Matthew 7:21-23, Luke 6:46, 13:25-30 and 3 Nephi 14:21-23 we are taught to do the will of the Father. However, I believe we need to be careful with all the noise going on in the world today that we don't just go through the motions of living a good life without properly learning to know the Father. No, it does not. Do they do many wonderful works in the name of Jesus? The Savior no matter what ...
